I previously paid Calvin Turner Roofing, on 1/13/2010, my check number 1730, $500 to replace all the vents and boots, USE MY PRESIDENTIAL ROOFING SHINGLES, and recaulk and paint everything.  They put up old, beat-up metal vents that looked like they came from the dump -- cracked, bent, warped really in terrible shape.  They used (?) 5 packets of my shingles and put a ton of caulk around the old damaged beat up vents.  They did not replace any of the vent pipe boots.  And they didn't even bother to paint the vents to match my roof.  Needless to say, the driving wind and blizzard conditions on the 17th of Nov of this year caused yet the 3rd roof leak that I've had in the exact same place -- high up in the vaulted ceiling of my house, water running down and out the nearest can light and down to wall.  This is so frustrating.  I've paid lots of money to have these Presidential shingles on my house, and yet every roofer that's been involved in this effort has done nothing but rip me off from the very beginning.  I would NEVER NEVER NEVER use Calvin Turner Roofing again.  They won't even return my phone calls to repair the mess they left me with from the 17 Nov 2015 blizzard.  I can't believe that there are so many unscrupulous roofers in the Colo Sprgs area -- but I've dealt with 3 of them so far and still have open holes in my roof and damage to fix!!!

Roofers:

1. Trapped a disabled person inside the residence with the old removed roofing, It was left that way for at least 2 weeks. Neighbors would have to try & clean up a path for her to get out. She finally had to leave her home and stay with friends/relatives until it was safer for her. Then it was still a battle to get into the home to care for the animals. The neighbors cleaned it up/made a path NOT the roofers.

2. Cleaned up in late Jan after months of us having to call and complain.

3. Didn't finish the ROOF until the middle of Jan. We had to call numerous times to get that achieved.

4. Took an extension cord, spliced it and hooked it directly into the power line outside on the roof and left it that way in the elements for months, if they would have let us know they were going to be there we could have turned the outside power on for them.

5. Damaged Numerous window covers/screens, boards around the roof/property, Pulled out and broke the fencing. Moved the trash cans to try & cover up the window well cover that they broke.

6. The neighbors complained several times about the materials left on the roof, in the alley and around the property. The neighbors also complained about the fact that the roofers were working well after dark.

7. No notice was ever given (After the original start time) as to when they would be there to work.

8. The gutter crew was out at least 3 different times to get it right.

9.We would hear "I may not have what I need so I will fix what I can and then someone else will have to come out and fix the rest" and we heard this several times.

BILLING ISSUES:

The Invoice which states "All work is complete - It's been a pleasure working with you" was sent to us on 12/07/2014. At that time nothing was cleaned up, the roof on the home still had raw wood exposed, The gutters were all ripped off and scattered throughout the property, etc...

I called and they argued with me that it wasn't done. Several phone calls over the next 2 months were made to try to get the roof complete and the damages repaired. Once that was done (the end of January) They still needed to replaced the gutters. Again several phone calls, them telling me they refused to have someone go out and check the property it was done. If I wanted gutters they would be happy to give me an estimate to have it done (I guess the roofers threw away the gutters when they shouldn't have). They finally (after showing them the photos from the insurance company of what the property looked like before they were there and again several phone calls) replaced them.

I started e-mailing the company because every time I called they were very rude (to say the least) and I wanted what was happening in writing.

The insurance adjuster who inspected the property before (at my request) came back out to inspect it again to make sure it was all done and done correctly. Sense we had been told so many times it was done when it in fact wasn't. The work was ok'd however Work was done on the roof that according to our insurance adjuster did not need to be done.

The plank decking was spaced close enough and did not need to be re-decked. The roofers (back in Sept) advised me that they would take photo's

proving it needed to be re-decked. I had requested these photos along with the cost and I have gotten no response from Calvin Turner Roofing. I have also requested the cost of the skylight and the cost to lift and re-set the Dish. Sense we had to have the Dish put back on and re-set.

They completed all the work on 02/28/2015 and sent out a Mechanics lien 03/14/2015. It hasn't even been 30 days sense the work has been complete and I still am in need of the proof for the re-decking of the garage roof.

UPDATE: They sent a certified letter on 03/28/2015 stating they asked the crew to get photos but they didn't and Calvin Turner Roofing has no way to get in touch with them. If we need proof we need to go into the attic of the garage and take pictures to get the proof we need. I don't see why we should have to do this when they said that they would and I honestly don't see how we can do this without having to hire someone to get up there.

I would like nothing more then to pay them (at least for everything except the re-decking of the garage roof, until we get the photos proving that it was needed) and be done with them but they won't respond.

04/02/2015; Noticed wind/air coming into the attic, went up to investigate and found that you can see daylight through the "roof". I can't imagine what problems were are going to end up with, with this roof :( This is truly a living nightmare. We are at a loss :(
