Jonathan Lucas of Crystal Rose construction was highly recommended by the sales person from whom we bought the vanity and wainscoting. It was a nightmare. We were out of our bedroom for 52 days. Lucas's nice guy demeanor did not reflect his work or that of two of his subs; they were inept, shoddy and sloppy. An ongoing issue was their unwillingness to clean up their trash/construction debris. I was told I didn't need to remove clothes from the closet, as they would cover them when accessing the attic opening in the closet. They didn't. In addition to construction/dry wall dust, there was insulation on my clothes from when one of them punched through the ceiling just outside the closet. His demolition guys remodeled the shower. They used the cheapest backer board. Seams were not flush. Tile spacing was uneven and not level. Cuts were rough. The niche slanted toward the wall to collect water. Floor was rough and uneven. His finish carpenter (who did a good job with the vanity & wainscoting) installed the hardwood floor, not the professional Lucas said he had. Lucas jumped in and put two coats of water-based poly on the floor without prepping it. It was bubbled, gritty and dirty. Finish carpenter tried to sand off the poly by hand. A coat of semi-gloss oil based poly was applied. The finish peeled. We stopped construction and told Lucas the two subs working on the shower could not come back. We brought in a commercial contractor friend, a hardwood floor professional and a tile professional. All commented on the sloppy, unprofessional workmanship. After meeting with Lucas, he agreed to bringing in outside professionals of our choice to redo the shower and the hardwood floor. There were communication issues. Example: without our knowledge or consent, Lucas installed bi-fold doors separated to look like French doors instead of the French doors we had agreed on. The newly glazed antique tub was not protected during installation of plumbing fixtures resulting in a chip in the glaze. Claw feet were improperly installed by Lucas and fell off. The glazer told my husband the correct way to install the feet; this set the tub higher so plumbing had to be rest. Was told no leaks but the tub leaked with the first bath. Lucas paid for the plumber we hired to fix the tub. There was redo after redo. It was crazy making stressful! The pictures reveal the shoddy workmanship by Crystal Rose Construction and finished bathroom thanks to the two companies we brought in to finish the remodel.

This was the WORST experience I've ever had with any contractor. The price was reasonable for the work I wanted done. However, I was not kept informed of progress issues, my home was torn up and non-functional for 3 WEEKS longer than originally agreed to, the workmanship was shoddy and the owner, Jonathon Lucas, was unresponsive and uninterested about my concerns. I had to schedule vacation days from work to let the workers in my home, so imagine how annoying it was to sit around waiting for them to show up..when they didn't! And no call either. There was no professionalism displayed, i.e., Jonathon brought his 5 year old kid with him one day when he was installing the bathroom flooring! I've had to have 2 separate contactors out to fix leaking tub door problems from the original installation by Crystal Rose. This was a disaster from the first swing of the demolition hammer to the final straw of not having enough of the original tile taken from the tub area to finish around the sink - because Jonathon 'threw it away already." Before the job was even done! It seemed like their first job ever-and looked worse. The only offer of compensation for this terrible tile work was to remove the rest of it and start over only charging me 1/2 price this time! I couldn't wait for them to leave my home for good. Not only would I NOT recommend them..I always warn all other unsuspecting homeowners looking for general contractors to stay away from this bunch!

Hired to repair windows, which would not stay open. Very cordial, excellent work, and a fair price. I highly recommend!

The job was excellent. I was very happy with their service. I have used them several times for different projects around the house and they are always very good.

They were 50% cheaper than the rest of the quotes we received. They were professional and easy to deal with. They always did what they said they would do and they did it on time.
