Using this company to build my garage was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made in my life. The owners name is Greg Moss, beware of this contractor, he has been building garages for a long time and he is very smart. He knows how to work the system and you will have no leverage to hold him accountable for what he says he will do. He is a despicable person to work with and everything will be done his way even if that means you don’t get what he said you would, or what you paid for. He is sometimes very good about returning phone calls but it doesn’t matter because he will not address your concerns. He doesn’t care. My project took 6 months and he never showed up to the job site even once, not once until the end and it was time to collect money. In regards to my project, he cut a lot of corners and pushed me around like I was garbage. He didn’t provide a porta-potty for his subs, left all the trash and rotting garbage in my front yard for months which was so embarrassing to neighbors and killed my grass. The $30K driveway that they installed completely disintegrated in 16 months and he was willing to do nothing. I could tell you much, much, more. It won't matter to him because he has all the work he can get, but for your sake, run like h*** from this dude. Please don’t make the same mistake I made. TW

My experience working with Greg and all of his crews for my garage addition went very well. I am very pleased with the overall process and working with Preferred Garages (demo, foundation/concrete, framing, siding, roofing, etc). I added another 17x30 ft onto an already existing 3-car garage on a new-ish home build in Castle Rock, plus increased the door heights from 7 -> 10ft. Preferred Garages was not the only contractor I shopped but they did come back the most knowledgable, by far way more experience than the others, and they were the best priced for the scope of work. The project began in late October after the usual 2 or so months to get plans drawn up, approved by the town and my HOA, and then permits issued. The new garage was completed ahead of schedule (late December). At each step of the way, Greg was available for any questions I had (like what comes next as I frequently was asking because of how quickly they were moving, without skipping on quality). I even ended up with slightly larger garage doors than originally planned as we had a little bit of leeway and Greg asked if I wanted them to each be 10ft tall doors instead of just one being that tall. I really appreciated that as it looks more uniform, and is more practical for my use case as well. Thank you Preferred Garages, really appreciate the high-quality work and attention to detail and making sure that I got the best garage addition possible.

Problems passing inspection, trash left, delays, lack of communication. Worst experience with a contractor ever and I built my own home so there have been many.

Greg came out to my house for a free estimate. Really friendly and not the typical salesman. Answered all of my questions and helped me decide on exactly what I should do. After Greg pulled the permits all work was completed. All of his crews were very professional and did their job quickly. Greg answered all calls and e-mails during the process. He completed the project according to the contract price with no changes or surprises. Nice to know there are still contractors you can count on. I couldn't be happier!

Just make sure you get your final inspection with the city before you pay them the final check. Our garage did not pass inspection and needed several expensive re-does because of Preferred Garage's corner cutting. Make sure you check their measurements every step of the way because our driveway cracked into many pieces within 2 weeks. We paid for a 4 inch thick driveway and we found out later they laid it 3 inches thick. They also cut corners on the retaining wall which had to be built into our garage. We had to have another contractor move the earth away and extend that. And last but not least, they left out the drip strip on the roof which keeps water in the gutters from flowing into the structure. The new shingles had to be taken up to put those in. They never returned a call once they got the final check.
