Parker Deck And Fence

I was so surprised to see a poor review from another customer of Parker Deck and Fence because they did a fantastic job on my deck. During the initial consult, Lane was very honest and answered all my questions in a way I could really understand. I didn't have a fully baked vision for my deck, but Lane took my rough idea and made it into a beautiful custom design. He helped me choose the best materials and worked hard to keep my project on budget. I found Lane's work ethic and craftsmanship to be outstanding. He was fast and efficient. My deck was completed a year ago (I'm a "little" late in writing this review) and I could not be more pleased. It's rare to find a company that does adequate work nowadays let alone the exceptional quality I found in Parker Deck and Fence. I have recommended Lane to several neighbors and will continue to do so because I absolutely LOVE my deck. I'm planning to have them do a pergola this summer.

AWFUL! DO NOT USE THIS MAN!!!! We contracted with Lane DesGeorges in August of 2018 to rebuild our deck. We signed a contract and gave Lane our deposit to start the process. First issue was he took well over a month to turn in the paperwork with the county and then lied to us saying it was not ready when WE had already got the paperwork from the county. Second issue, in September we could not get Lane to call us back. Weeks go by, nothing. Final he text us claiming his truck burned down. Continue into October and still no progress. Again many attempts were made by us to contact Lane and we got no response. Then, again, via text he claimed his girlfriend had died and that was the reason he had not been in touch. We fell for his lies again. Third issue, Lane NEVER answered phone calls from us trying to find out a start date or any information. This was a constant issue. Now into November he agreed to meet with us at our home to discuss the contract. He came out and gave us a sob story about how he's is losing business and needs more money to start the demo. He does come and demo and we give him more money. He had us order over $18,000 in material. The material arrives and we anticipate starting the building of the deck. Again weeks go by with no contact and unanswered calls from us to Lane and no deck on our house. On December 15th 2018 Lane sends us a text stating he WILL NOT finish our project for various false reasons and furthermore WILL NOT refund any of our money stating he is filing bankruptcy and he expects legal action from us. Written words cannot explain our anger and frustration on so many levels with this man. Our home remains deck-less with no access to either our front or back doors to this day because we are having a helluvuh time finding anyone to clean up his mess for a decent price. We can only hope that he did in fact file for bankruptcy and that his business folded so that he can not to this to anyone else! But he has probably lied about that too.

This was a horrible experience. We had to rip out the entire $50,000 deck because he used an interior rated glulam beam for the main support beam that began to delaminate. On top of that, the quality of workmanship was poor, the wrong decking color was installed initially and had to be replaced, boards were warped and rain escape leaked. The project to partial completion took over 5 months due to inability to get Lane's subcontracted workers to show up but then Lane walked off the job because he didn't have enough money to pay the subcontractors and we had already paid him 95% of the total estimate for an uncompleted job. We essentially had to start over with a new company completely tearing out the first new deck and fully replacing with a second new deck and are now done almost 18 months later.
