Simon's company started off well, and the work was completed in a timely fashion. However, after completion, it became clear that there were several defects that needed to be addressed. One of the joists was installed improperly, causing the deck to look like a roller coaster ride. Simon claimed that the joist expanded, and therefore could not be fixed. This is not true, as the joist was not installed level, and none of the other joists "expanded." When I asked him to repair it, he said no because it was "act of god." Additionally, one of the deck boards installed was chipped on the corner and he refuses to replace it, even though there is ample leftovers on the side of my house (they re-used my prior deck boards). They stopped returning my calls, and only when I threatened legal action did they call me back (I am an attorney). The matter is still not resolved, and the owner hung up on me, and said he didn't care and didn't need my business.

It was wonderful.  They did exactly what we asked of them and did it quickly.  I was shocked at how quickly the landscaping went, the other took much longer of course, but anyway, they were very good and knew what they were doing.
