Read the negative reviews and believe them. Visit BBB, read google and yelp. I was naive and trusting and learned a costly lesson. My experience was much like others; Mike expected me to bend over backwards to accommodate his never punctual, often absent team. He did not communicate well with them or me, did not call when he said he would, and allowed work to continue to progress at night and weekends without the proper tools despite me saying those hours were no go. When I tried to advocate for myself he turned on me very quickly. I was given an outrageous estimate update and when I offered to pay for the work completed plus 20% of the remaining work (as per the contract) he ghosted me with my 50% deposit. No doubt he will come here to do some petty he said/she said on this review like he does with the others. Allow that to be indicative of his character. Just dont make the same mistakes I did, do not hire this contractor under any circumstances. I did hire a new concrete team who w

Any positive review is the owner using his employees profile. See yelp for actual photos of the mess this guy makes. He will over charge you, take your money and never complete the work. Any contractor that requires 50% upfront is a red flag. I have photos to prove and an attorney to back this up.

If only there was an option for 6 stars! Very professional, punctual and most importantly upfront about the price which never changed. Replacing a dinosaur furnace from 1983 in my crawlspace wasn't an easy task add on duct issues that plagued my house since it's inception. The main floor register is directly off the furnace and would gush hit air robbing the other areas to where I had covered it completely. After the install I showed Vincent the issue, he went the extra mile going back into the ductwork to create a solution to equally disperse airflow to the rest of the system. Now I feel air move on the side of the house always robbed by that vent! I've had multiple big HVAC companies here in the past all would hear my issue shrug their shoulders and say yeah just keep it covered.. Along with the best service I've had in far too long, add in the most competitive price I received and installed within a week of the estimate I couldn't be happier. What drew me to AUC was 2 fold, first was the professionalism by everyone I had contact with and knowing they can handle it all from a furnace to structural issues. I personally can't think of a better company to have your back than one that can do it all!

Sent out requests for quotes to 5 contractors, this was not only the only one that called me back, but the Project Manager Mike was able to get me scheduled for the quote the same week! Quote was almost exactly what we had expected, a little higher, but Mike showed us the increase of material costs, so made perfect sense. That alone was enough for us to make the decision to go with All Universal Construction, honesty and transparency is priceless to us. Project is 90% complete.

There are positives to using All Universal Construction, Inc.. Their bidding process was detailed, and easy to understand, and they met their budget, often a rarity these days. We had decided to go with them because they had their own crew, which presumably made for easier project management; and they completed the job in the time estimated. The employees, for the most part, are polite and professional. If you need a small to mid-sized project done, they are going to do a solid job for you. On the other hand, our kitchen was a large, custom job; and this presented a steep learning curve for them. The installer lacked some critical attention to detail, had trouble understanding some of the plans, and did the appliance wall incorrectly instead of checking with the designer, even though the designer had graciously helped him earlier with the kitchen island. New parts had to be ordered and the wall redone. Some of the crew and subcontractors were also not up to the tasks, resulting in several follow-on visits. All Universal struggled with the project management side and required regular follow-up: they did not keep any kind of punch list that we could see; we had to repeatedly tell them what needed to be done every step of the way. They did not confirm scheduled work with us or in several cases, with their own crew and subcontractors. We ended up with a beautiful kitchen, but it took much more time and effort on our part than it should have. Would we work with them again on another project? The answer is yes probably -- now that we know better how to work with them, and if they have learned from this project as well.

Almost two years ago I hired All Universal Construction to finish a basement complete with two bedrooms with egress windows, a large bathroom and a laundry room. In the bathroom shower enclosure a few days ago I noticed there were some tiles falling of the wall! As you can imagine I was pretty upset to see this. I immediately called Owner Mike at All Universal. He was at my house within hours to check out the problem! Unfortunately the warranty had expired and in order to have it repaired it was going to cost a little. I decided I wanted to completely change out the tile which was going to be a NEW job and of course additional cost, which I was ok with. Owner Mike then tells me he would cover the cost of the labor and even the new waterproof wallboard that would be required if I just purchased the new tile. Wow! I was shocked! How often does that happen? After a couple days I have a brand new shower enclosure. Looks amazing! Let me just say that it was a pleasure working with Owner Mike and his crew. Absolutely a top notch group of people! From start to finish I was very impressed. A big thank you to All Universal Construction!

Mike and his team were great. As part of an inspection to sell my house it was identified to have a structural engineer assess some findings. I reached out to multiple people and Mike was the first to respond, he had affordable rates and was very communicative. He was able to come out the very next day to make my tight deadline. He also bid on the work to be done which was affordable as well and we have contracted with him for the repairs.

Hired these folks to put my laundry room and bathroom back together after a water damage incident. I had five different contractors out for estimates and this was the ONLY company that even bothered to call me back or send me an estimate (promptly, too). Work was done a bit piecemeal, scheduled a day at a time, but happened much faster than some of the other companies I worked with through the whole process. The guys who did the work were very nice. Overall happy with results.

I interviewed 8 companies to install the sidewalk. Mike made the strongest impression for the money. I was seeking high-quality work, not low cost, but, I ended up getting extremely low-quality work for a low cost. Lots of uneven curves, corners, inconsistent texture, the job looks like I live in a trailer park. There is very poor communication from Mike to his workers, they do not execute the work discussed with Mike. When issues arose, communication and service were mostly poor... but, to Mikes credit, he came out and looked at the work and agreed it was shotty, so they gave me $1k back. If I could have a do-over, I would not have hired them.

I hired All Universal Construction to complete our basement remodel. Total square footage was just under 1400 ft.². We started at the beginning of November and just finished. Completion schedule did get pushed back, but overall was totally fine. Mike was great to work with and I would hire him again to do a project. Biggest frustration I encountered was what is when working with the electrician. Communication and follow through or not great, But they did get the job done

The project was top notch. Not only did they consistently show up on time, but they finished the project early and were willing to reschedule the final walkthrough multiple times to accommodate our schedule. Final project turned out great and I am so pleased with basement remodel. Now I really look forward to coming home every day.

We paid Mike D Angelos company All Universal Construction over $32,000 for a basement remodel that was left incomplete after putting our family through an 8-month nightmare of dealing with this business. The contract was signed Dec 2019 and was committed in the contract to be completed in 2.5 months. 8 months later, in Aug 2020, we severed our relationship with AUC after we threatened a lawsuit against them for breach of contract in multiple areas. We had to hire another person to finish the job, which ultimately cost us more money and time. I would be very hesitant to do any remodels with this company without city inspection(s). AUC failed 2 inspections with the city of Westminster with several code violations each time. These failures occurred on both ROUGH and FINAL inspections. Look at the BBB reviews if you want a true sense of how this company operates. Don't trust the Google reviews as there are a number of employees (ex - James B.) or family members (ex - Joseph D) that have left good reviews, which is simply unethical. Areas they didn't complete correctly or with poor quality workmanship, contracted ½ bath was never completed, contracted carpet was never installed, contracted egress window never installed, missing window flashing (waterproofing) around an exterior window that was called out by Westminster city inspector, paint overspray on most of our fixtures and windows, unfinished drywall patches in a number of areas, an unsealed shower, poorly installed vanity cabinet, cracked tile in bathroom, chipped grout in bathroom, missing paint/caulk in dozens of areas, multiple doors cut down with exposed hollow cores and many other items. Lessons learned: 1. AUCs contract asks for 50% down at signing which should have been a red flag to us. No reputable contractor should be asking for that much down at signing unless they are already in financial trouble. 2. Progress payments were not tied contractually to specific milestones. We paid progress payments in advance of work progressing in good faith, and because we paid early our job was left lingering for months. Tie progress payments to specific milestones in the contract. 3. We provided a key and AUC provided a lock box for access to our basement so they could access the job site without having to interact with us. This was a mistake since AUC sent people out on nights and weekends multiple times to work. While we had a baby at home, at night and during the winter, they sprayed drywall texture and primed/painted which led to high levels of VOCs throughout our house for multiple nights while our baby was trying to sleep. Since it was the dead of winter, we couldn't air out the house easily since it was in the teens at night. We had to specifically tell them no more nights on items like drywall and paint... this should have been common sense by the contractor. 4. Since the drywall and paint was done at night with portable lamps to light up the work area since electrical wasn't installed yet, the work quality was extremely poor, large wall seams are still showing, walls are bowed out in a number of areas, and the paint job left for us to correct was terrible all the way around. 5. Paint they didn't thoroughly clean the baseboards, trim or walls prior to spraying paint. This led to baseboards and trim especially having dirt and debris trapped under the paint, which obviously doesn't look professional and was not what we paid for. 6. There was a complete lack of foreman or project manager oversight on our job. Their subs came and asked us what they were supposed to do in a number of areas that they should have been proactively managing. Even after bringing this up with them two different times, nothing changed in their approach.
Response from All Universal Construction
"We took on Zack Gibbs job initially knowing it would be a uphill journey. We agreed to discount his basement finish job in light of his economical situation. Zack also requested that he would paint, install doors, trim, toilet and other finishes to save money. The project started out great until it came time for the first progress payment. We finished the first phase in record time. We didn?t receive the first progress payment until three weeks after it was invoiced. We were nice enough to keep production going for a extra week but pulled off awaiting the agreed payment. Once Zack paid we progressed but were held up by his agreement to finish"

When we needed to convert our basement and bath into a mother-in-law suite, we searched out a variety of companies. All Universal came up in a search and Mike, the owner, was able to come right out and provide a quote. Work started almost immediately and like a well oiled machine we had contractors in and out, but each introduced themselves and told us what part of the project they were there to do. The work was stellar! We got phase 1 done and already reached out for phase 2 which includes painting and converting a room into a bedroom. Mike is responsive and his employees are all dedicated to getting the job done right, making suggestions on things we can improve or do differently. Their expertise was appreciated. Even when we would call to change or add something, Mike would be sure to get it done and provide the costs to us immediately so we could track the budget. I am so happy we found All Universal and will look forward to working with them on other projects to come!

I just want to give a shout out to Michael and Beau and their crew from All Universal Construction. We needed a contractor who was licensed (not just said they were licensed) in the City of Thornton to handle moving a water heater, gas line, electrical, framing, paint, title, plumbing, etc. These guys definitely knew what they were doing. They worked around our schedules - especially during the holidays; were honest, stayed on contract and cost. They did exceptional work and I could not be happier. In fact, I just received my certificate of compliance from the city. If you need work done and you need it done right, give All Universal Construction a call - you will not regret it.

We had Mike build us a track home in North Carolina and were extremely happy with the end result. Mikes professionalism was duly noted through all change orders and hurdles. We couldn't have been happier and recommend Mike & his crew for any new build /renovation project! We've had friends hire them for renovation projects with excellent results too.

This was a nightmare. Everything this company did was not only awful but did not meet any regulations which Mike said in the beginning I did not need a inspector. The tile job had to be redone 2 times and we finally had to hire an outside tile man to complete. The plumbing was so horrific had to hire a master plumber that had to redone all of the plumbing. His company set our tub and wanted to cut our floor joist to put in the drain. My husband said no. The owner Mike only visited the job 2 times in 6 weeks with having major problems going on. Mike finally decided 5 weeks into the job after having to redo 1100sg ft of Limestone tile that he would quit the job. Actually this was the best decision ever. The master plumber we hired got everything all in order. Mike did come out to my house to apologize and while he was here told me he would like to pay for the master plumber's work that had to be redone (which was $825)....he never did - I did email him and no response. Mike is not an honest person. I was not going to give a review on all of this but knew I had to do what was right. I have saved a portfolio on this job with lots of pictures. I would recommend you contacting me prior to signing a contract with this company at [email protected]

"We were hired by Patti to expand her master bathroom. Patti and her husband are DIYers and avid home remodeling program watchers. After agreeing to perform the work, I was hesitant. They had already performed quite a bit of the demo work including structural, rough plumbing, and rough electrical work. I immediately seen all the dangerous electrical connections they had run and installed. The plumbing and structural was also out of code per their attempts to complete as homeowners. Patti wanted to save money so she elected not to pull a permit and signed off full responsibility if flagged by the building dept. We commenced work immediately after."
