Description of Work: Skywerx provides internet service via radio wave transmission from nearby towers. During the 1st two months of service, they had serious problems with lots of downtime and poor performance. They seem to have resolved those problems. But the equipment at the house has to be re-booted just about weekly. They exchanged the router, but the problem persists. | |Because it's a radio-based service, latency is poor. At $49.95/month for 5 Mb/sec downloads, the service seems a little pricey. Upload speeds are very, very slow. When there's a problem, I have to leave a message and often don't get a callback the same day. | |Unfortunately, the phone company DSL service and the cable company internet service are not yet available at our address. So this is really the only choice at the moment.

They have been a good company who are dependable, professional and have solved any problems that have arisen. This is a remote underserved area and they are one of the few who can provide good service for a reasonable price.
Description of Work: My current internet service provider and I have been with them for more than eight years.

Description of Work: Installed and set up Internet service. 3x the speed at 2/3 the price of our old DSL provider. The setup man was a half hour late but he called ahead with an accurate estimate of his arrival. Two hour install/setup time. It is an excellent alternative if you have line of site with one of their towers. No throttling of monthly use. We are very pleased with the overall experience.

Their service is very reliable. Ever since I have been using them, the price has been the same. It is adequately fast. It is a good enough speed for home use. They have multiple levels of service so that we can get faster and better service. I have the lowest level, which is good for home use.

I recently moved to a new home that is in a rural location and the only available traditional internet service was Qwest DSL. The speeds were slower than we really wanted, but they were the only game in town or so I thought. After some research I found a Wireless ISP called Sky Werx. I contacted Skywerx to see if service was available at my address. Sky Werx is a Wireless Internet Service Provider in Southwest Colorado serving Pagosa Springs, Bayfield, and Durango, CO. A technician came to my home and did a site survey to see if Sky Werx would be able to provide service. For their service you must have line of sight to one of their transceivers. Luckily my location was close enough with a clear view of the tower site. The technician then scheduled an install date to turn up my service. The service requires a small dish antenna similar to a satellite tv service and a run of cable to your router. The antenna is powered via the cable run via power over ethernet. The technician came out when promised and installed the antenna and the run of cable and configured my router. The install took a couple of hours, but when all was said and done I had service that was three times the speed of Qwest for the same monthly price. There was an install fee that covers the price of the antenna and the cable run that totaled $99. I currently have the 3 Mbps service and the technician told me my location is good for 10 Mbps if we wanted to upgrade. So far I'm very pleased with the service the ping times are very low and the connection is stable. Currently we stream video and have VOIP service. Of course time will tell, but if you are looking for an alternative to the incumbent bell or cable company in Southwest Colorado I would give Sky Werx a shot. They are a young, upstart company that is local and they offer speeds up to 20 Mbps.
Description of Work: Update 11/16/2011 Just an update. We have had Skywerx internet service for three months and have had zero problems. Very happy with there service. We are currently subscribed to the $39.99/month service which is 3Mb/sec and it is so much better than Qwest DSL. I highly recommend the service.
