Steve/Capstone is super knowledgeable, easy to work with, and he and his crew delivered high quality workmanship at a very reasonable cost. The first time we used Capstone it was to completely remodel a full bath. We bought the materials and Steve and his crew did the demo/removal of the existing materials which included taking out a baby blue bath tub that required sawing the tub in half so it would fit through the bathroom door. During the whole job they were careful to lay down carpet protector and did a nice job cleaning up after themselves each day. We were so pleased with their work that we had Capstone come back and do work for us on two more bathrooms - this time minor updates; swap out a faucets, toilets, towel bars, light fixtures. There were a couple of small snags with the old water valves being corroded and Capstone readily went to the hardware store and got the replacement parts needed without any delays. The second job resulted in the same positive experience with Steve and his crew. The end result: we definitely recommend Capstone Home Renovations for their workmanship, friendliness, and reasonable pricing!!

He was very personable, he's easy to work with, he is honest, he's very meticulous which I really like. He does take longer than most  people I think because he does a lot of the work himself. And he likes to oversee everything which is just fine and we're not in a big hurry. We had a little bit of issues with the bathroom as far as what I wanted and him trying to make it into what I wanted because he had to do a bit of revamping on my floor and stuff that wasn't expected. He was honest and he told us what we needed to do, what was going to need to happen. It was frustrating at first you know but now I love my bathroom because all of the different hurdles we had to go through to make it where I wanted didn't require me to compromise on things that I didn't want. So it was frustrating at the time but now I love it. He dealt with those frustrations in a professional manner. He was very apologetic but he said this is what we need to do. He locked everything off with plastic, I don't know what it is called, and the floors are protected and the workers cleaned up after themselves all the time. It was great.

In our personal 1968 home Steve knocked out walls (which he had engineered by a licensed engineer) to insure the integrity of the roof bearing walls, removed old cabinets and installed new cabinets, counters, trim, flooring etc, in our kitchen.  He replaced old paneling in the livingroom with drywall, resurfaced the face of the fireplace, installed a beautiful new hardwood mantle, installed new stair railings and refaced an old mud room into a beautiful new room addition.  I could go on and on about all he did in the custom spec homes he did for us.  It got to the point we didn't even go to check on what he was doing, we just knew it would be better than what we imagined.

We cannot say enough about Steve King.  He and his crew did a fantastic job! Our new bathroom is beautifully tiled with a new shower enclosure and all new fixtures.  We just love it! It is a fairly small bath and they managed to make it look like a mini-spa..I am honestly looking for projects just so we can hire him again!

The project was our master bathroom. I had a designer draw up plans and needed a contractor to perform the work. I saw Steve's info on Angie's List and called him. He promptly came that evening and looked at the space and within a few weeks we had a bid. He is very cautious in his bidding. He started the work first week of March and was done end of April. It took longer than anticipated because of some last minute changes of materials, by myself. I am very confident that the integrity of the project was Steve's number one priority (he will tell you that). It is true. He went above the call of duty when it came to my shower. I had my heart set on it being a walk in and even though he had to do major reconstruction of the floor, he did it. I love my bathroom. Steve will be doing our kitchen next and we are looking forward to working with him again.

CapStone Home Renovations did an EXCELLENT job.  We purchased the property at 7815 S. Zante Ct., Aurora, CO. in late December of 2012 and wanted to move in April 1, 2013.  We were moving from California.  In January of 2013 we put our remodel project out for bid knowing we would be out of the country, on vacation, from the middle of February to the middle of March.  We narrowed the contractors down to three in which CapStone was one.  We met with each of the contractors again to go over the project and finalize their numbers.  Steve King, owner of CapStone, impressed me as being very knowledgeable and understood the tight time line he would be under.  Steve took charge of the project and was finished by March 1, 2013 in time for the painters to paint the entire inside of the house and to install new carpet.  We moved in on April 1, 2013.  CapStone was not the cheepest of the final three contractors but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.  The quality of work and consciousness of what the project entailed by Steve King and CapStone are unparalleled in the home renovation business today.  We would definitely use CapStone again for any of our remodel needs.stall

I would recommend Capstone construction for all of home construction projects.  After working with Steve,  I wish I had used him as a General Contractor.  His overall knowledge and contacts in the construction industry made him an invalueble resouce to us.  All of the other contractors that we used from Angies list gave us quotes/bids for the work we wanted done.  Capstone provided us with a budget and line items of the cost for each item to be completed.  This gave us a better planning approach and let us select the things that we could do and the things we wanted Capstone to do.  We are very pleased with the outcome of the project and will recommend Capstone Construction to all our friends and family.

They were excellent. They did a very good job, and they were very easy to work with. I would say that those were the key things, and the quality at the end of it was excellent. Their people were all good.

We can not say enough great things about Steve King, CapStone, and all of the professionals he uses.  After recently moving to Parker, CO about a year ago, we decided we would update our house (built in 1976).  We wanted to have an open floor plan with a 2 sided fireplace in the middle and we worked with a designer on our ideas.  After discussing the project with a number of contractors who had been referred to us, we turned to Angie's List, as we hadn't found a good fit.  We noticed Steve King's company right away - both in that he had completed projects similar in size (and larger), that he had fantastic reviews, and that he really looked for ways to help homeowners stay within a budget.  We scheduled a meeting and right away, Steve made an impact - making several suggestions that both made sense and would save us some money.  We selected Steve and scheduled a start date.
Throughout this process, not only did Steve demonstrate professionalism, expertise, and dedication, he consistently above and beyond the call of duty.  He made several suggestions along the way that improved the overall look of the finished product and also helped us navigate the waters when we uncovered unforeseen issues.  One of these, was whether a main wall was load-bearing.  Not content to just assume that the people we had out before, including an architect were correct, Steve brought in a structural engineer and verified that the wall was not load-bearing and because of this, we were able to stay truer to our original intent and design.  Another example was how to deal with our furnace chase, which just happened to be in the worst location and could not be moved.  The solution that Steve came up with both looks great and also has a functional purpose and a nice design element.
Communication in these types of large projects is always key and once again, this is an area where Steve shines.  He consistently listened to us from the very beginning and let us know when changes needed to be made, schedules needed to be adjusted, or an unforeseen issue arose and he needed our input.
One of the greatest benefits of working with Steve had nothing to do with the original project.  In the middle of the project, due to a freak storm, our basement flooded.  Unfortunately, all of us were out of town.  Steve immediately took charge, used his folks to move all of our stuff out of the flooded area (we were using our basement as our living space during the remodel), contacted a restoration crew to pump out the water (over 400 gallons) and set up fans/dehumidifiers, and rallied a carpet person to get us new carpet installed in less than a week.  In addition, he took pictures for the Insurance agent and helped us move the furniture back in place.  He also helped us pinpoint the main source of the weak spot (the patio our landscaper had completed had shifted) and made recommendations to help alleviate the issue in the future.
In the end, I would highly recommend Steve and any of the professionals (electrical, plumbing, hardwood flooring, cabinets, granite, tile, framers, etc) he uses.  We will absolutely contact Steve for ALL of our future projects.  He is quite simply the most ethical, honest, and expert contractor we have ever worked with.

We moved from Texas and had purchased a CO home in April.  I contacted Steve and two other contractors based on reviews on Angie's List.   Steve came out, heard what we needed and provided a quote.  The trick was being comfortable with a contractor who would do all the work while we were back in Texas, unable to monitor the situation.
Steve was FANTASTIC!  I felt comfortable dealing with him right away.  Very down to earth, willing to explain any question in great detail, and provide his opinion on how things should be done when asked.   We went back to Texas and he started working.   Steve communicated often via email and sent pictures of the work as it progressed, as well as calling to give us status updates and make mid-course corrections.
One example where he went above and beyond:  The marble we chose for the floor was 18" and thicker (1/2") than he expected.  With his background in custom home building, he was a bit concerned about the floor load with that marble and shifting.  He contacted his engineer to get a second opinion and then put in a rubber barrier between the flooring and the marble which would help dampen vibrations and minimize any chances of cracking.
There were hiccups in some places as we had multiple contractors in doing work simultaneously but Steve never missed a beat.  He was always up front, honest, and came through with flying colors.   After just the one job, I consider him a trusted advisor for me and will absolutely use him again on future projects (I already have some in mind).
Maybe the best thing that speaks to his character is that I fully paid him and then discovered that there were some spots on the marble after everything was done.   I called him, and he came out (while we were still in TX) and took care of everything, even sealing the marble which was not something I had originally asked for.   A contractor that continues to work for you and finish the last detail, after they are already fully paid, is a contractor you can trust.
If you are a reasonable person looking for someone who does solid work at a good price and is dependable you don't need to bother with any more reviews.  Call Steve!

This is a job that many Angie's List service providers would not do, but they did a great job. I thought their pricing was extremely fair, but did run a little late once and didn't call us.

Steve is a pleasure to work with. Very patient and not salesman type. He'll tell you like it is and will do what he says.

He has an extensive network of companies that he works with and they all do great work. Steve remodeled our kitchen for us and did lots of extras. The end result is fabulous. We targeted an aggressive end date and he met it without issue.  He had a lot of helpful suggestions along the way and even did extra work that wasn't in our initial contract.

He is a former builder and knows his trade, so you can trust that things will be done to code.

Can't say enough good things about Capstone and our experience.

We found Steve on Angie's list and chose him as our general contractor. He did all the work for us as well. He helped with design and picking out materials. We are so happy with everything he has done for us, we couldn't have had a better experience. We miss him dearly now that the project is complete. My 2 year old son talks about him all the time!! Wonderful job and amazing work!

He is probably the best contractor that we have used in my life. He is honest. He has an extremely good eye. Not only is he good and does what he says he is going to do, his prices are good. I often ask his opinion when I am not sure and whatever he comes up with is always better than what I thought I wanted to do. I probably have him to do my home for over the next five years because I can afford him.

Steve/Capstone did a complete kitchen remodel of an older home we purchased knowing it needed a lot of work, including tearing out the existing kitchen, adding new hardwoods and refinishing those to match existing hardwoods, rewiring, and installing cabinets, sink, faucet, new appliances, countertops, backsplash, lighting, and other items needed to complete the project. The remodel was complicated by existing structures and space. This was not a small project and there were many different things that needed to be considered/ordered/scheduled. In addition, our budget was limited (but our tastes aren't) and the existing space made planning fairly difficult. And we are the picky. Steve expertly guided and completed the project and helped us make good decisions along the way that maximized the final result and minimized costs wherever possible. His guidance and aesthetic sense was truly was invaluable. He was completely transparent and candid and was a joy to have working in the house. All of the work was flawlessly executed and at all times, he made our satisfaction his highest priority. In fact, he worked late on Christmas eve despite our pleas that he should leave to make sure we had everything we needed in place to cook over the holiday weekend. We chose to do the remodel between Thanksgiving and New Years and fully realized that we might not be able to cook so this was unexpected and greatly appreciated. But this is the kind of person Steve is and it's impossible not to appreciate how he deals with customers. The kitchen is completed and it is amazing. Steve's ideas for changing the space and his suggestions on all of the selections we made resulted in a gorgeous kitchen that this seasoned cook adores. I will be using him to help us remodel other areas of our home.
