Scott Chalfant's Flooring

I purchased $1000 in cork flooring from Carpet Trends. At the time CarpetTrends' installer had moved, so the owner, Darla, referred me to an independent installer, Scott Plumb, for installation. After leaving several messages over several days, he finally returned my call. It took several days more before he could come out to look at my project. He said he would email me with a bid and a date when he could install the flooring. When he emailed me the bid he did not commit to a date, and it again took several days for him to return my call to schedule a date. We agreed that he would come out on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 8:30 o'clock a.m. to install the cork flooring. In preparation for the installation, I ran my heater at 68 degrees round the clock for three days, as required by the flooring manufacturing for proper acclimatization and installation. On Monday morning, he neither showed nor called. I called him at approximately 8:40 to see if I should still be expecting him. He said that he was running late, but that he was loading supplies and would head my way as soon as he finished. One hour later, he still had neither shown nor called nor would he take my calls. As it seemed clear that I had been stood up, I called Darla to see if she had another installer who could install my flooring. She did not but wanted to call Mr. Plumb on my behalf to see what the problem was. At approximately 10:30, Mr. Plumb called me back and indicated that he was very angry and in a very bad mood because I had called Darla, and, as a result, he was no longer willing to install my flooring. Mr. Plumb's behavior throughout my association with him has been extremely unprofessional, neither returning calls nor keeping appointments as scheduled nor calling to reschedule nor keeping to his commitment to install my flooring.
