Timing belt teeth were coming off. He replaced the belt, and it broke again in a couple of thousand miles. He wouldn't warranty it again, stating a friend had told him it was a factory issue. My next mechanic said he thought he had not properly installed a critical component, leading to related failure.

The absolute worst. The most expensive. The owner is a difficult to completely impossible to deal with.
He quoted $65.00 to diagnose the car knowing full well what he had to do. He then called back to say his cost to diagnose it was now $150.00 Because I reminded him of his quoted cost of 65.00 he then told me he would not then work on the car.
Wasted my time, 2 AAA tows and charged me for more than double his quoted cost to only diagnose. Then quoted price to repair was 3 times what three other people quoted for the same thing.
Then he refused to take my credit card over the phone for his diagnosis and demanded cash when I was 1.5 hours away. The guy is triple the problem of your car problem you had to begin with. Bad news = run the other away. And, insult to injury - he made a chauvinistic slur.

Repaired engine impeccably, and timely. Told me about important scheduled maintenance and performed it. Turns out I later found out that the problem was a recognized problem with the car model. Quite expensive to repair.
