At first glance, your operation appears professional, even polished. With your slick website, well-staged offices, and staff who speak as if they know what they're doing, one might assume they're dealing with an experienced and reliable property management company. That illusion fades fast. The reality is that your team is completely ineffective and clearly incapable of doing anything without direction from the "boss." It is unacceptable that basic issues go unresolved for weeks, sometimes months, because no one seems empowered--or competent--enough to act. This isn't just frustrating for tenants; it's a massive disservice to the property owners who are paying you for a service you clearly don't deliver. Routine repairs are ignored. Maintenance is delayed or outright forgotten. Communication is a joke. The staff is either unwilling or unable to handle even the most basic tasks without running it up a chain that seems designed more to stall than to solve. Tenants are left in the lurch, and owners are being charged for "management" that barely exists in any functional sense. If anyone is reading this in consideration of hiring this company: don't. Read the other reviews--they are absolutely accurate. I regret not doing so myself before dealing with this disaster of a business. Behind the appearance of credibility lies disorganization, negligence, and incompetence. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. I strongly suggest the owners of the properties you "manage" take a hard look at what they're really getting for their money.

I e-mailed about a property I wanted to rent. I asked if they allowed chickens at the property as I have 9. I received a response E-mail stating that the city has an ordinance that states you can only have 3. When I first acquired the egg makers I did my research and never found a limit on the number you were allowed to have. Considering this I still called the Montrose County Clerk and she verified that there is no set number. I responded to the E-mail from Area Best with the facts and to state that I was still interested. After not receiving a response to my E-mail I called Area Best back to inform them that I was still interested and to let them know there is no limit...blah blah. She told me that the property still needed to be cleaned up and that they would call me back on the 10th to schedule a viewing. They have not done so at all. Additionally, a dear friend of mine has been renting from them for a few months now and has told me multiple times about how irresponsible they are at meeting her maintenance requests. Since she is disabled I find that to be a really awful that they are not responding to her maintenance requests.
