I immediately and carefully packed the clock in bubble wrap and a strong box and took it to Mexico. When I got it there, I set it up and
wound it and tried to start it. It would not run. The chimes would not chime. The clock was DOA! I tried numerous times to call Art's Clock Shop to discuss the problem. He never responded. I called DeVinney's to try to get them to get Art to call. They were no help.
I finally had a Mexican clock repair service repair the clock. I paid them US$300 to repair the work Art's had done.
I am unhappy with both the work and the customer service I got from Art's Clock Shop. I am a former member of the National Watch And Clock Collectors and in 1976 took the clock completely apart and reassembled it. It was running before I took it to DeVinney's for routine service. My hands are not steady enough now to attempt that task. But I know what I asked of them and that I did not get it.
