DO NOT USE THIS PAINTING CONTRACTOR!!! We cut him a check in September for $3000 and he went missing for six weeks even though he said he'd be back the next week to start painting. I left him an angry message demanding my deposit back. He showed up at my house about seven weeks after he deposited our check at 3 pm to power wash my house and deck. There was snow still on the deck and it was dark an hour later. He has worked a total of seven hours on our house. He had an excuse every time I called him to finish the job. Here are some of his excuses: his friend had an abscessed tooth, his father fell off his bicycle, he hurt his back, he needed to make a turkey the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, he had to help his girlfriend move her furniture, his family was throwing him a surprise birthday party, etc. Sometimes he gave excuses, but usually he just didn't show up. I suspect he has a serious substance abuse problem because no sober person is this lazy. The last time he randomly showed up at my house late in the afternoon, I told him he was bad person and he had screwed me. He said, he "wasn't mad" at me and "it is what it is." I'm thinking, "great, where's my $3000." I am taking him to small claims court for my deposit which I'm sure is long gone.
