Rocky Mountain Fence & Deck

Expansion of existing 10x10' deck on new construction home. RMFD had good design ideas and we were willing to wait the long wait time (months). Plan was to just make the deck bigger. RMFD were helpful in correcting original builders lack of permitting and ultimately didn't pass this cost on to me ($100?). Final construction seems sturdy -- but the new materials used for railing don't match the originals. Explanation was that the original must not be "real deck materials" or are "cheap." I didn't ask for non-matching railings. During the initial estimate/bid there was no mention that my deck was "non standard." The estimate says "match existing." Due to the size discrepancies, corner joints have gaps and railings don't line up. RMFD was willing to do additional work to "mill boards down to size" - but at my cost. RMFD came to collect final payment - but all the railings weren't even installed, and they hadn't checked their subcontractor's work.

Punctual and very responsive to my needs. HOA required diagram of back yard with fence for approval - it was done by Rocky Mountain and fence was put in as soon as HOA approved. Price was reasonable. Would definitely use again, I was very satisfied. Fence looks great.

My experience is horrible. He is not willing to make his work right. He was willing to do minimal adjustments to make me happy, which it required a lot more work than minimal to make it right. He told me if I wanted to pay him additional money, he would make it right. The fence was not installed correctly. They did not measure properly, which made post to post longer than should have been. They did not cut the wire properly, staple properly, or make the wire even to the top of the fence. These mistakes make very sharp edges and dangerous to anyone who would touch the top of the fence.

They started right on time and the renters left for the workday. The fences were put up in two days.
The 6' section was built as a privacy fence while the 4' was built as a shadow-box type. They did call to inform me that it had been installed wrong. They did not offer to correct the problem and did not offer any rebate. They did guarantee it to not blow over for the life of the fence. They also did not offer any concession in pricing even after I requested it. They did not offer to correct the mistake and re-built it and that was not something I wanted either as that would have degrated the strenght of the posts. If I used them again I would make sure that I would be on site to supervise their work.

Got two quotes from places off Angies list. Rocky Mt had the lower price for the same quality. Wait until fence was OK but was not the next day:)- Very good quality and finished product.

They did a fine job. I would use them again.
