It turns out that the way the concrete was originally poured caused the original mason to fudge the job. Tim and his helper (sorry I forgot your name) went the extra mile. They removed all the old brick and cut a straight edge in the concrete. Then masterfully cut each brick to fit the new edge perfectly. You'd never know... Communication was good and quick. Fit me in as soon he said he would.

We chose to go with the full brick option as recommended by Tim and are very please with the way everything came out. Tim and Travis arrived on time this morning, completed the job and cleaned up like they were never here. I was impressed watching them work with the various angles and how well they made the new wall match the rest of the house. I highly recommend Crowell who will be my first call for any future masonry needs.

I contacted Tim via Angie's List. I gave him a description of what I needed. Because I do not generally bid out small jobs, I asked Tim to swing by, fix the doorstep and send me bill. Before I could say fixed, I was contacted by his office, made arrangements to fix my brickwork and it was done. They emailed me a bill and I sent a check.
Tim is a true pro. This was as quick and professional as any contractor I have ever used. I cannot say enough about how well this job went.

Crowell Mansonry overcoat a cracked chimney crown and replace cracked brick on chimney. |Work looked good but the new chimney crown cracked within days (probably due to a cold snap during curing). They came back quickly to repair. |I was disappointed by how much sand and mortar they rinsed out of their buckets into my grass. I'm going to have to chisel it out next spring and repair the grass. They also left a large amount of mortar droppings on my new roof. I wish I would have gone up there and rinsed it off before it cured.

"The work in review here was done Fall of 2013. This is the first we have been made aware of any issues regarding our work completed there. Regarding drops on the roof, the contractor washed the roof after both times working up there. We try to clean up after ourselves as best we can after every job. Regarding the material in the grass, we try to rinse out where the debris will make the smallest impact on the situation. Again, the products used here when diluted should have separated and should mix into the soil, not create a barrier. We are indeed sorry for any situation that might have been left to clean up after our completion of the job. The contractor has been doing this for over 30 years and has rarely had any complaints when finished with his work."

A large rock came lose from our moss rock chimney during a high wind storm. Tim Crowell gave me the best quote to replace that rock and repair other rocks that were also lose. He also repaired the cap on the chimney. Tim arrived on the appointed day and got the work done. He put down tarps to protect the deck and cleaned up the area when he was done.

Communicated by email, then sent Crowell some pictures. Gave me a quote via email, said they could repair the next Thursday and quoted me a price. Accepted the price. Crowell came on the day quoted and repaired the bricks in an hour or so.

Crowell Masonry came to the house, discussed the projects, and gave a verbal quote. A written quote was then provided via email. We felt the price was very reasonable. On the scheduled work day, Crowell Masonry showed up a few minutes early and got right to work. They completed the projects in less than a day and cleaned-up all work areas when finished. We were very pleased with the quality of the work.

I have a bungalow that was built in 1930 with a block wall foundation that had cracks and loose blocks. He came out one evening to take a look and gave me a reasonable estimate. After I agreed, he said he'd come out between 7:30 and 8am on Tuesday morning. Tuesday rolls around and at 7:30 on the dot I hear him hauling tools out of his truck in front of my house with his helper. Before I knew it, they had a bunch of the loose blocks pulled out. It was a little scary at first, but from talking to him, he seemed very knowledgable of these old houses. So I pretty much left them to do their thing and when I came back later in the day, it was all done and beautiful. He said it wasn't as bad as he thought and charged me less than he estimated. He may look a little rough, but he does great work.
