Mercury Solar Systems was founded in 2006 and today ranks as the largest solar integrator in New York and one of the top solar integrators on the East Coast. We are solely focused on designing and installing solar electric systems for the commercial, non-profit and residential marketplace. Our team has decades of industry experience in electrical and structural engineering, solar design and installation, construction, and finance. This unparalleled mix of experience has enabled us to install over 1,500 solar systems of varying complexity totaling over 23 Megawatts of power. It went very well and were happy with it. The solar panel works really well. Based on what I heard from the electrical inspector and other people that came, they said that they did a terrific job on the installation. It's a little bit complicated because the price of the job was all set by tax breaks, deductions and rebates, so it's hard to say, but we thought the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend them.

Scott from Mercury came out and spoke with my wife and I for about an hour explaining the entire process including the different own/lease options and the underlying economics of each. I did not feel like it was a pressured sales pitch at all. The cost of the system was approximately $17,900 after an approimate state rebate of $4650. We later signed an agreement and gave a $1,000 deposit with the balance due after installation. The state rebate follows about 3 months after installation. In the end, we went with the leasing program through their partner SunRun. Under that program our cost was reduced by the amount of the federal tax credit and SunRun was responsible for any problems with the panels and/or inverters. We would have had to wait until tax time 2012 to get the federal credit otherwise. Mercury does all the installation work and will be the company that does any continuing maintenance or repairs. The work was completed in a timely manner once all the paperwork worked it's way through the state (takes a couple of months due to the state's backlog). They left the areas affected (basement, house exterior) clean and without a lot of "leftover parts". Communication with Mercury was good throughout the process.

I had an excellent experience with Mercury Solar Systems. The company really responded to my concerns about the contract and went the extra mile to work with me even though my job was a relatively small residential contract. The team that did my installation was very conscientious and the administrative team was excellent about communicating with me and addressing my concerns along the way. The price was the lowest that I saw in my area (I got quotes from 3 other companies and investigated a few others. I would quickly recommend Mercury to any of my friends who want to have solar panels installed.
