We initially met Jeff on a recommendation from our realtor. Jeff is an unassuming, very personable guy. He likes people and is very easy to talk and work with. Design: After the first meeting, Jeff recommended a couple of designers for us to talk with about the Kitchen remodel design. Both designers were good, but had different styles (one modern, one more traditional). The one designer we felt very comfortable with and it was clear she understood very quickly what we were looking for. The design process went well, the designer was very responsive, she came up with very creative options for our space. And we completed the design in about 2-3 weeks. The budget/estimation phase went well; Jeff was transparent with all the subcontractor estimates. If I had any concerns, he was always instantly checking into that concern and getting quick answers. Planning/pre-construction: After the design was completed, the long lead items such as the cabinets were ordered. Jeff began to plan the project schedule. He asked us what date we wanted to start, and set that as the start date. His primary priority in developing the schedule was to minimize the inconvenience and loss of use of the kitchen while the work was underway. He talked with us about options to minimize the time and disturbance. Construction started on schedule as planned. Jeff's project schedule management was impressive, excellent. He always stuck to his top priority of completing the job as quickly as possible for us so that it minimized the disruption to our lives and inconvience of not having a kitchen. He scheduled the subcontractors back to back, sometimes overlapping, so that all the work was quickly sequential. He was always available, very responsive, and closely supervising the sub-contractors. He never hesitated in calling them back to resolve/correct anything we had a concern with. That was done during construction, instead of at the end as other contractors may do. Jeff treated our home like it was his own. In addition to making it clear with the subcontractors that they must keep the work area clean, At the end of each day, Jeff was personally sweeping and cleaning not just the work area, but even walkways and front door mat - any areas that might have a bit of dirt or dust from the remodel. He was able to complete the kitchen remodel construction in two weeks! That included tear down, moving/reframing of walls and window opening, hardwood floor installation, complete electrical, plumbing (moving of sink, adding gas cooktop), cabinets, applicances, trim. While waiting for the countertop fabrication, we used a temporary sink installation that allowed us use of the kitchen. Overall, Jeff always did what he said he was going to do, and exceeded our expectations. At the end of the job, everything was completed with very high quality and up to our exacting standards. The remodel was completed at a cost under the budget/estimate. As well, there were no items to be fixed in the punch-list, because he had already resolved everything during construction when the subcontractors were on site.
Description of Work: We hired Jeff and Compleat Development for our kitchen remodel. The remodel included moving of walls, plumbing, electric and complete new cabinets, appliances, hardwood floors and countertops.
