Michael was great about listening to my ideas; brainstorming; problem solving and helping me to determine what I really wanted and needed. Michael is a true craftsman. Every detail is done with care. He worked with the other sub-contractors and made sure that things were done right. Our finished product far exceeded my wildest dreams!

+ 1 moreMichael is the most incredible contractor I have ever worked with. He is very creative and takes the time to understand a problem. He is great at communication. He is also really clean! I didn't know that was possible! Of course, there was dust, but we were totally able to live in the room adjacent to where he was working during the job. Awesome guy. I am talking with him about doing another job currently.
Description of Work: Installed a skylight. Removed "popcorn" ceiling. Skim coated ceiling, painted.

+ -1 moreWe had them follow-up this last year on a couple of little things. Their workmanship was fabulous. Their design work was great. They did everything. They came in on time, with great product. Getting hold of them in the first place was very easy, one of the people that I work with knew them and gave me their phone number, I called and everything. They just came right down. The guy that runs it, Michael Shuster, is an incredibly friendly and ambitious little guy, who kind of runs through lots of details and when there were hiccups along the way he came up with innovative solutions very quickly. His price was not cheap, but I think we got value for money. We have recommended him to other folks.
Description of Work: Wildwood Joinery & Design did the major renovation of my house. They took out an old bathroom and put a new bathroom in, and finished the basement, then moved the laundry room from one part to another.

+ 0 moreThey are wonderful; absolutely marvelous. If I have an emergency that is the first call I make. They are just the best. I am a client of his wife and so I see Michael quite frequently. He has been my guardian angel for many years. I can’t say enough good things about him. He is so knowledgeable and so ethical. He is one of the local authorities on green building and looking at the ecology. He really works with his clients to come up with the most reasonable and workable solution for any problem.
Description of Work: Michael from Wildwood Joinery & Design has done some big projects for me. He has also done little things for me like minor plumbing jobs and stuff like that.

+ 1 moreWorking with Michael is a great experience. He is friendly and accessible. Really takes the time to explain options and procedures thoroughly. His crew is a fun and professional group of guys -- nice having them around the house. Michael is a superb craftsman (he's a master carpenter) and a perfectionist. His hands-on work is beautiful, and he supervises the work of his subcontractors very closely. And an important factor for us: Michael is GENUINELY concerned about the environment. He's very familiar with products that are durable and have the lowest environmental impacts. Michael warned us in advance that there could be unforeseen issues once the project got started. After the initial demolition we could see that the central beam supporting the upper floor had been originally built with a structural flaw. Michael identified the problem, discussed it with us, and fixed it efficiently. The extra cost was not severe. Hire Wildwood Joinery for your next home improvement project, and you will enjoy both the process and the results!
Description of Work: Remodeled the lower level of our 1964 house, which had probably not been touched since it was built. This included some reframing to combine 2 small bedrooms into one, the construction of 4 new closets, high quality insulation, new windows, and an expansion and complete remodel of the bathroom (including cutting and re-pouring of part of the concrete slab to accommodate a walk-in shower). Michael served as general contractor, and he and his crew did all the carpentry. He found excellent subcontractors to do the tiling, plumbing, demolition, and drywall.

I have also had the opportunity to see the exterior of several houses in the Longmont area which Wildwood Joinery has remodeled. They were all lovely! Michael is one of the most ethical, knowledgeable and professional people I have ever known. He is committed to providing the highest caliber work to his clients at the most reasonable price possible. With his creativity and expertise in green building, he is able to suggest innovative solutions to the most challenging home repairs. He and his crew are very considerate of the client's space and leave it cleaner than it was before. They are also totally trustworthy. I feel completely at ease giving them a key to my house so that they can continue to work while I am away from home. Thank you Michael, Cyndi and everyone else who has helped me. I look forward to a long association with you and Wildwood Joinery.
Description of Work: Wildwood Joinery has completed several projects for me over the past few years including: Building a large deck on the rear of my house - Michael designed the deck to my specifications and suggested I use Trex so that my deck would be maintenance-free. This has worked out perfectly. Repair of the shingles on one side of my house - The original builder incorrectly installed the shingles which allowed water to flow under the shingles, resulting in warping. Michael also was hired by our homeowners association to repair the shingles on another house. One of the shingles he replaced on my house started bulging out due to the sunshine. Michael returned and fixed the shingle at no charge. Relocation of master water shut-off valve - The master shut-off valve was located in a far corner of my crawl space and totally impossible for me to reach. My hot water heater started leaking at 3:00 a.m. one morning, flooding my pantry and crawl space. No plumbing companies were open. I called Michael before 7:00. He arrived within 15 minutes, managed to locate and turn off the master shut-off valve and drained the hot water heater. I asked that he relocate the master shut-off so that it was within my reach. He did this once the plumbers had installed a new hot water heater. Replacement of piping and garbage disposal - The drain pipe for my kitchen sink was leaking, soaking everything I had stored in the lower cabinet. While fixing the pipe, Michael discovered that my garbage disposal was so rusted it fell off in his hand. He replaced it as well. Installation of additional insulation in my attic - My house is two stories. My utility bill was huge from my trying to cool the upstairs to a bearable level. The original insulation in my attic was minimal. Michael arranged for and supervised the installation of additional insulation. We are planning to install another vent in the attic to further increase air circulation. There have been other, smaller projects as well.
