It went very bad! not only did the contractor start work prior to the permit being issued, his crew was caught and the project was closed down by the building dept. His drug use was an unacceptable situation. It's never a good sign when your contractor asks to buy cocaine. Worst of all, were the out of control fits of rage that caused us to call the police and fire him. I had to start the project over from scratch, loosing all the time and money to date.
