They were responsive to our phone calls, showed up on time and did exactly what we wanted. And, he saved us some money! We wanted a new faucet installed that we had purchased and he did a very quick and clean job with that. Then we wanted the toilet kits replaced on three toilets because the toilets are always running and we had a really high water bill. He checked the toilets and found that the water level in the tanks was set too high. He adjusted this and told us not to replace the kits, saving us some money. Last, we asked for an estimate to replace the water heater, which he provided.
I also asked about a leaking kitchen faucet; he said it couldn't be fixed and I needed to get a new one. My renter was able to take apart the old one one and fix the leak himself well under the time it would have taken plumber to do the job for the one hour I paid for.
He also stated it would be about $200 to fix a problem with a 1" pipe that needs to be reduced to probably a 1/2" pipe in the basement bathtub; I opted not to do that.
He complained several times that he has tried to have the "special" I paid for through Angie's list removed; all he got was $35 for the call to my house. I felt sorry for him, and gave him a $10 tip for coming out. I gave him a D rating for professionalism because of discussing his problem with Angies List with a customer.
I paid for an hour's work (plus $10 tip!) and he spent a half hour at the most at my place.
We have had a lot of trouble getting folks to respond to our calls for service over the 10+ years we have lived here, so I REALLY appreciated the eagerness and professionalism that Steve's Plumbing showed. My husband and I both called Steve a time or two over the weekend to check on the status and discuss water heater models, and even then - he called back right away and never acted like we were bothering him. I will most certainly be calling them again for any plumbing problems that we have.
The only area that I would rate less than excellent is clean up. In that I would rate "good".
I will definitely call him for future plumbing needs.
The transition from the old metal pipes to the new PVC leaked and would not hold up to water pressure.
Although they were nice and professional I found it unnecessary for his son to flirt with the woman that was there painting.
I showed Steve a leak I have in the bathroom, and the need to find a replacement faucet that would fit the sink. He didn't help with this. He said he'd see what he could find, but didn't hear back from him.
The workmanship was excellent and he charged me only $175. I was very pleased.
They were pleasant, polite and cleaned up after finishing the work. I can not say enough nice thigs about these guys and I would definitely hire them again.
