Very well. This was for my elderly parents. The workmen were very respectful, neat, and efficient.

A structural engineer gave me a report showing what the problem with my basement beam was. I asked him if he had any recommendations for a contractor that has done this kind of work before. He gave me three companies. The first one was Modafferi Construction. I called Modafferi and Pete Modafferi set up a time that he could come look at the problem. He was very thorough in his explanation of how he could fix the problem and when he would be available. He sent me a contract with an estimate of $842.00. I sent in a $200.00 deposit and we scheduled to have the work done that Friday. On the day the work was to be done Pete called me and said that the carpenter that was going to work with him was out with the flu. He offered to come and do the work by himself, but stated it would probably take him two days instead of one. We agreed that he would come the following Friday. He did come the following Friday. They finished the work in 1/2 a day, and the total cost of the project ended up being $473.79 instead of $842.00. Pete explained that there was a portion of the work that was in my estimate that he didn't actually have to do because once he had the I-beam jacked up he saw that he had the room to move the vertical beam without removing the concrete that was in place around it. Pete scheduled a drywaller to come the following week and finish the job. Pete didn't send me a bill until after all of the work was completed.

Modafferi Construction Company has given me a detailed budget report so that I can keep a running total. They have stayed on budget and are very cost conscious. He is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. He has always been punctual and always responsive. There have been very few surprises and of the few there were, they were not of his doing. The price shown reflects what the total project is going to cost.
