When dealing with Lowe's for windows replacement you are really dealing with three separate entities:
* Lowe's commercial services department (store 1874)
* Window manufacturer (in my case Pella)
* Installation sub-contractor
You sign a contract with Lowe's and Lowe's orders the parts and  Lowe's sub-contracts the installation.

This installation was to occur in 3-5 days.  Due to a parts problem and an installation problem it took about 2 months plus a couple Pella service calls.  The actual days with a contractor working in the house was about 5 but long delays occurred waiting for parts or waiting for contractor availability.

My evaluation has three parts.

Lowe's: B
The Lowe's saleman was very knowledgable and helpful both during the sale and also for followup questions and issues.  The Lowe's subcontracting department did not seem very organized about how to close out my issues list.  But eventually a final walkthrough with Lowe's occurred with a couple issues remaining.  About a month later all issues were resolved.

Pella: B
The experience with Pella was generally good.   Pella performed warranty service on two of the windows to correct problems that were not noticed until after the installation.  Pella was good about arranging on site work to address the issues.  There was one manufacturing quality issue that Lowe's reported to Pella for me that was eventually addressed by Pella to my satisfaction.
Overall, I am happy with the Pella 350 vinyl windows.

Installation Subcontractor: B
My experience with the subcontractor was generally good.  We did have one window that I disagreed with the installation and the contractor returned to reinstall the window and addressed my issues.  The large delay on this project was due to getting proper trim boards for a couple round windows.  Eventually the original interior trim boards were used because the window shapes and framing openings were a bit difficult to work with... nonetheless it surprised me that these standard shapes were a problem.  On my final issues list, I had a trim board quality issue that took Lowes and the subcontractor a couple more months to address.  By the time they offered to address the issue, I had already painted the house and I declined the fix.
