The company as a whole is great - family friendly, kid friendly in the showroom. Sherry paisley was great and so creative, experienced and helpful. However, when it came time to measure and get the actual order taken, things went downhill. The owners didn't listen carefully and didn't check their own merchandise, so I was left with the wrong tile delivered on the day I had my tile setters. They did get the order in quickly though and fixed the problem. They were washy washy with the prices- not clear and direct. They flat out lied to me about tile setting costs. The price is high, like 2300 for tile i installed in my bathroom. They told me it would be 4000 dollars to install! Yikes. I hope they are not telling other customers such false install per sq foot prices. They are ripping people of in the tile install department. Also it was not clearly explained as to when the carpet/tile/laminate guys would be available and told me only after my products arrived at the warehouse that they have to book 1-2 weeks out. Luckily I pushed hard to keep my project on time. When I had to change the time for the carpet installers, the owner made a huge deal about it and told me I had signed a contract saying blah blah blah and changing the time would be a big deal. This made me furious. They got the wrong tile in, therefore my project (an addition my house) was delayed, therefore the carpet install was delayed. Not only did they not actually take responsibility for their mistakes but the way they dealt with the paying customer that was so unacceptable. They never said sorry, we messed up. Instead they said it is the customers responsibility to check all inventory as it arrives. I did check it a day after and it was wrong and I still would have the same issues with my tile install and rushing around to make it right. The owners put all the responsibility on the customer and on top of that made me feel like I was actually doing something wrong! For anyone who is doing a large project, it is my suggestion to work with only one person throughout the process not three people that did not communicate. For a family business that is not acceptable to me. In the end the laminate and flooring installers were very good. The owners did not call me to see how everything went and to make sure I was happy. I spent 4500 bucks, which I think is a large chunk of well earned money. I would expect more friendly, helpful, competent customer service from a local business. I was disappointed with that.
