Chris was truly exceptional! He responded to my initial call the same day, came over that day, indicated he had a cancellation a couple days later. He indicated it would take 2 days and performed the work in exactly that period of time.
The finished product is fantastic and I would definitely use him again!

We were concerned that adding to a previous installation might be a problem.  But it was not.  We cannot tell where the old tile ends and the new tile begins.  Chris provided a seamless transition between the two areas.

Chris installed a tile floor and backsplash in the kitchen of a rental house. He was very easy to work with and takes great pride in his work. His portfolio is impressive and he has a great eye for detail. I would definately use him again.

I showed Chris the tile I wanted to use.  He gave me an estimate and we discussed how to lay the tile for the best look.  His insight on how to lay the tile for the best look was invaluable. Chris' work was impeccable, as it has been in the past for other projects.  Both projects look great.

We first used Avalon when we had a flood in our laundry room, and had to replace the flooring immediately.  I went to a local tile store and they said their installers were scheduled about 3 weeks out.  But they gave me the name of Chris Schmidt at Avalon Interiors as someone they used when they needed extra hands.

I called Chris and he immediately called back and said he could work me into his schedule within a couple of days.  He installed tile in our laundry room immediately, in time to get the new washer and dryer in place for wash day.  Then he tiled the adjoining bathroom and hall (additional flood damaged areas), and put me in touch with another worker to help install the new vanity and sink.

We liked his work so much that we scheduled him to do several more jobs for us:  re-tile our cracked kitchen floor and re-tile our fireplace. Chris was wonderful to work with.  He has a great eye for design, but also works with the customer to get just what they want.  In the kitchen, I got a great deal on some mosaic tile, and asked him to work it into the design.  He planned out a nice inset, in which he had to create custom corners for the pattern, but he made it all work great.  The old tile was installed directly on the wood floor.  Chris made sure to install the correct backer board under the new tile, to prevent future cracking.

For the fireplace, we started with my design, and then Chris added several ideas that really made it pop.  Both times, his design sense was a wonderful addition to the final product.  All work was performed with exceptional precision, for beautiful results.
