Our 18-year-old cedar shake roof was trashed in the July 2011 hail storm and we investigated alternatives of all types. We chose the Gerard system as installed by Horn Brothers because we wanted a more distinctive roof appearance to balance our home and replicate the charm of cedar without the expense and hassle.
The Horn folks showed up on time and got right to work. They finished the 3,500 sq. ft. job in 4 days and left the area pretty much as they found it. We have had roofs replaced in the past and found nails and scraps for months afterward; with Horn, hardly any!
The roof met all our expectations for appearance and fit.
Horn worked with our insurance company to maximize the amount covered; we still had to pay some out of pocket but knew that going in. There were no surprises.
Metal roofs are not for everyone, but if you decide to consider them, you should contact Horn Brothers.
Horn Brothers is a first class organization. From their representative, T.J., to their roofing removers and installers, they are superlative.
Their estimate was so professional; including a catalog of roof material options and very detailed breakdown of costs of each and including, in red, options to cut costs by eliminating certain options. They are punctual, always returned calls, applied absolutely NO pressure, and educated us throughout the process. In short, they did it all right without any guarantee of us
hiring them to do the job. How rare this is and they really and quot;walked the talkand quot; doing all they said they would do and exceeded anything
we might have expected. When they were finished, our place looked as if they were never there. It was immaculate. We love our roof and will always be walking ambassadors for this wonderful company.
