TruGreen Lawn Care - 5310

This is the absolute worst company I have ever done business with. At least 6 times they asked me not to cancel service and promised someone experienced would come out to my house, assess my yard and tell me what I need to do to help my grass grow. Each time someone showed up to treat my lawn and charged my credit card and had no idea what I was talking about when I said I was expecting a consultation-or they did not show up at all. Maybe other locations are better, but the one in Littleton is a joke. There is supposedly a guarantee, but they cannot live up to it because they cannot provide any service other than what they train entry level people to dump on your lawn with not much thought or care. I called Weed Man and they came out, gave me a consultation that was actually informative, provided a plan, and a guarantee. I JUST got off the phone again with what was supposedly corporate customer service and she was making excuses rather than even trying to help. Tells me all I need to know about this company. Absolutely horrible

The company stood me up on two occasions (September/October 2021). I have flagged and cleared my large lawn for the service. I arranged to stay home on both days to accommodate the machine getting through the gate to the back yard and to avoid dog issues. I was stood up on both days at the end of the day. This is extremely frustrating. I spoke with customer service but I am unable to speak to the local manager to have this resolved. This is not how you treat a customer. It’s very unfortunate.

Great. Emerald Ash Borer treatment every two years. Came separately to spray for insects on trees and shrubs in August. Did deep root feeding on specific trees/shrubs the end of October. Cost is $49/quarter depending on what you need done. Borer treatment $225.

The treatment drastically reduced our mosquito issue.

They kept leaving voice messages on my phone - we will be there on July 20, we will be there July 25, July 31, August 5, August 8 and finally we received a 2nd warning from the HOA so I called and said if they didn't come I wanted a supervisor and my $$ back because their service sucks!! Every time they called they only wanted to sell me mosquito repellant service and I kept telling them we didn't have any. They finally showed up August 12th. It's the 25th and I'm still waiting for the weeks to go away.

Timely and thorough

They also do seeding at the last visit for the year. I also paid extra to have irritation done. I inherited them because I had the Scott's service and they bought it. They have a national presence and simply responsive and profession. It seems to work out better in my estimation than the small local people that do it privately. They do have a local office in which the workers come from. They have both a national and local presence. It is not cheap but I think that it is valued for the money. If I think I have over paid I would probably remember better.

I think they're doing fine. When I came back to the property, I noticed some weeds were wilting, but some were still growing. They came back and resprayed. So far, everything is going fine. What I appreciate is they are working a little out of the box. I have natural grass. They have to be more open minded because it's not the typical yard. They agreed to apply the pre-emergent fertilization even though there is dirt in some parts of the yard.

They charge $50 per month/visit and they come about 6 to 8 times/months per season.

They do everything. Well when they come to the front door to tell you they are going to do the service, if you have a lot of questions, they will spend a lot of time talking with you about your personal issues with your trees or grass and they will go and look at it more carefully if you think you have a problem somewhere. I had sort of a grub problem in my grass and I was wondering why my grass was dying and the guy spent quite a bit of time digging around trying to figure out what the problem was and he found some grubs. So he took time to look at it instead of just hurrying and spraying stuff and running to the next appointment. And that's the same with the trees too.

They are great, I like them. They are on time, and they made my lawn look really good. They didn't do anything special for me, I have dogs, and they accommodate my dogs, so that is special.  They are pretty expensive.

We've used them for years.   They're dependable and their prices are right.  Scheduling is fairly easy.  Clean up is not a problem and communication with them is good.  They helped save a Red Oak on our property.  This tree is rare in our area.

I liked that they are timely and efficient and do a good job.

I don't think I have EVER been as angry with a contractor as I am at this one !  They have been
totally unprofessional in how they deal with the customer, from breaking in to my lawn to do things,
to not telling me when they were coming to do service, to leave nasty notes about leaving my gate
 open when they DO show up, to not ringing my doorbell when I was, to being made promises
concerning their service that were NEVER followed up on !
Under no circumstances should you use these people...unless you're in the mood to throw
your money away and be treated horribly !

I am very happy with TruGreen. We pay less with them. They tell me what they are going to be doing. They ask if I have any concerns or if there’s anything I want to tell them. I’ll go around and we’ll discuss in different areas. They seem very responsive.

Scotts Lawn Service is very good. I'm somewhat disappointed that they can't get rid of my crab grass, but they tell me you can't, you have to dig it out. I don't think that Scotts Lawn Service is a great deal better than anyone else, they just happened to be the provider that called me first.

I used this service for 2 houses and at the end of the year I cancelled the service on one of the properties. Two months later Trugreen called to ask for payment on the cancelled property and I explained that I cancelled the service. She found that only one part of the three parts of the service (whatever that means) was cancelled and since my lawn was serviced that I owe them $65. She knew they made a mistake and that did not make a difference.  I paid them the $65 that I did not owe them and cancelled the service on my other house. I will not do business with people who won't take responsibility for their own screw up. It took 5 minutes to find out that I was not a valued customer.
