ROOFING CONNECTION

Ron gave us an estimate that was half the price of another estimate we got. He promptly came out and supposedly fixed our skylight. For about a month it was okay - then it started leaking again - even worse than it was originally. We called ron and he said he would come out. He didn't. We called again; he said he'd come out; he didn't. This went on a couple more times - then he just ignored our calls and never responded. Now we have to pay someone else to do it right. We should have done this to begin with.

Everything went very well. They were polite. They told me there was extra work that needed to be done and they let me know about this before they did it.

The owner is an individual contractor and he came several times to give an estimate. He did the work and I am impressed with his knowledge about roofs. He did a good job and it looks great. He was more expensive but he was also competitive.

As soon as it rained, the roof began to leak again. They came out to take a look at it, and said that if I still have a leak it must be a different problem because there was nothing more they could do. They were adamant that it was not something they could fix, although I hired them to fix it in the first place. I was left with the exact same problem that I started with. I spent $3500 to fix the leak, and I still had a leak. I also noticed that some of the seams around my roof were coming apart. I told them that I wanted that addressed. He became angry and was not willing to come fix their work. He was calling me names and attacking me personally. To deal with him was extremely unpleasant, and I was put under a personal attack. I would schedule something, and then have to reschedule, and it became very difficult to set an appointment with him. Dealing with this man on the phone became so unpleasant I felt threatened. I felt so uncomfortable that the last time he came out, I actually left the house and had a man there to meet with him instead. He was responsive, but he was nasty when he did respond. I do not want to do work with someone like that. I would never call him again for a problem, which means that I do not think he would back up his warranty either. In the end, I had to hire someone else to come fix the roof.

The leak is fixed and that is the major thing. But it took several phone calls from me to get them to respond and reschedule the final pieces of the job. It is true that a wet spring/summer and big storms with hail have limited the company's time they can get on roofs, and increased the numer of jobs they've taken on. So, to some extent, the excuses were warranted as to why it wasn't being finished, etc. And there were phone messages from the company to let me know they wouldn't be coming out on a particular day. That doesn't change the fact that I had to do the chasing to get them to come back and finish the job. Part of our pricing deal included bringing in someone to replace the window trim Ron pulled off to get to the leak. Two months and more than three phone calls later, it was still not done. Finally, after my latest phone call, Ron came out to replace the window trim himself, but Ron is a roofer and not a trim worker. He hammered up a piece of wood, recessed behind the rest of the trim and not matching up with the bottoms of the exposed side trim on the windows. Again, the leak is fixed, the roof is holding and that is the major thing we hired them to do. But our payment agreement included putting the window back with trim to match and that has not been done. And the number of times I had to call to try to get the job done is infuriating. If I had written this reveiw the week after our garage was dry, I'd have given them a better grade. But we'll have to come up with another solution to our trim and pay for it ourselves.

The project went great. The work was executed professionally and timely.

Before purchasing the home, a whole house fan was installed. In order to add increased vent capacity, 5 roof vents were added but they were installed incorrectly and began to leak. I called Roofing Connection and they came out to quote the vent repair. While on the roof, it was discovered that 3 vent stacks that were recently replaced by another roofer had been incorrectly installed (crack on crack with felt showing.) With a quote for the all the repairs, Roofing Connection came out the next day and completed 85% of the work. Due to inclement weather, two additional trips were necessary. All the repairs are top notch. The wood is tight. Absolutely no crack on crack or felt showing. No nail heads showing. Vents were replaced with metal and painted versus the plastic alternatives. Vent stacks were sealed and painted with all the wood around them reworked. Paint was top quality brand. The Roofing Connection team took the time to blow the roof clean as well... minor but still an attribute of quality work. It is obvious that pride is taken in their work. Ron and Wade were excellent and a pleasure to work with. Ron provided a lot of education to a first time cedar shake roof owner.

Overall, this was a very good job. The owner and a workman came the next morning and took care of the leaks before the next rain could cause more problems. Ron Fester was knowledgeable and professional and a very nice person to work with. He sure rescued us in a bad situation. His price seemed rather high, but I really don't know anything about the roofing field, maybe they're all that high. The only thing...when he came in to explain to us, he got some tar on my white oriental runner in the foyer.

I called after a heavy snowstorm resulted in a leak in the house. After the estimate (and comparing to a couple other estimates), I felt comfortable enough to schedule the work. Because of getting more rain, they suggested waiting until everything was dry, so that painting and sealing would work better. The work was done within a couple days (it took a couple hours to complete), and everything looks great. I also wanted some gutter work done, but they mentioned they specialize in the roof, not in the gutters, and gave me a reference for that too. Also, the Angie's listing said there was a 25% discount for roofing repairs, but this doesn't apply to my type of repairs - I got a 10% discount. This did not bother me too much because I felt the price was good with a 10% discount, and the overall experience was fine.

After deciding on Roofing Connection on a Friday, Ron started the job on Monday. It snowed on Tuesday so they resumed on Wednesday (but got a little late start). The undersestimated the amount of repairs required so needed to go purchase additional cedar shingles. Ron asked for payment of half of the job which we gave him. He returned on Thursday to complete the work, but realized that we had some damage to some of the penetrations which he did not notice during the estimate. Ron came back on Friday to fix the roof penetrations and we paid him the balance for the job. Ron did not aks for any additional money for the job despite the added repairs. I was especially impressed with him stickin gto his orginal estimate.

Ron came to inspect my roof on 10.30.08 I had a leak on the south wall between the gutter and the garage wall. I figure that my roof was built at least 25 years ago. Rain and melting snow would leak right inside the garage. I do have a flat roof, which is one of Roofing Connections specialties. Ron's knowledge of the roofing trade was very impressive and I was very confident about what needed to be done.Ron applied a temporary patch. My roof had an inch or so of pea gravel over the entire surface, this makes it difficult to inspect the entire roof surface. The pea gravel was removed and roof power washed - you could have eaten off that roof when he was done. We decided to resurface and silver-seal the entire roof. I also had damage to a small overhang above the front door that Ron noticed, the shake was loose and was badly damaged by the south sun. He even crawled down under the house to retrieve stored cedar shake and used that for the job, keeping my cost down. The shake repair was immaculate, Ron is a true perfectionist that takes great pride in his work. I would not hesitate to recommend Roofing Connections to anyone especially if you have a flat roof and the cedar shake repair was absolutely beautiful.

They did a great job. They were very courteous, friendly & showed up on time. They were very professional. They did an inspection and told me about the work that needed to be done. They issued a certificate for insurance purposes.

After several heavy days of rainfall the roof over my covered patio was leaking terribly, I found Roofing Connection on Angie's List. Despite the high volume of calls from the rainstorm, Ron came out in a timely manner to give me an estimate, which was much lower than others I had received. Ron did a wonderful job fixing my roof and always kept me informed on the status. This is a wonderful company and I would recommend them to anyone!

They were excellent, very quick to respond. Ron the owner was very informative, he took the time to really show us he cared. He just started to stain the new shingles with a stain to weather them to look like they were older than they were to fit with the old roof lines. They are so honest, they could have came in like others, saying that we would need a new roof, and he went into the repair side instead of pitching all new.

This job was fabulous. Ron gave me a few suggestions on what the best way to fix my roof, gutters and soffits on a house we had just bought. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, honest and guaranteed his work as well as the work done by someone he regularly worked with for the gutters and soffits. They even fixed a few other soffit areas and gutter spots that weren't found in the original estimate for the quoted price. I was able to schedule the work for the week after I had called him and he finished up the work in fabulous time with absolutely no mess left. As an interior designer, I have to say this was one of the best contractor experiences I have ever had and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for roofing or gutter work.

The experience went really well. They were out on time and he found the leaks and fixed them right away and provided me with an estimate of any other work that had to be done. He cleaned up after himself he even did a little extra work. He always told me the status of the project when he left at night and he did a really good job and he gave me that the Angie's List discount.

They were fabulous I would refer them to anyone. They were on time and very prompt. They were very respectful about being around our home. I would use them.

The owner came out, on time, introduced himself, surveyed the roof. Then provided me with a detailed work description and price. He provided an additional discount for my Angie membership! After a few days of other estimates from other companies, I chose Roofing Connection. His office person set me up with an appointment.. and the day before, she called to confirm that the workers would come out the next day, weather permitting. Weather was bad, so she called and we set up the next day. That day the 2 workers arrived on time, introduced themselves and started in. They were very hard working and professional. The owner came by later in the PM and did the chimney sealer and agreed to have his team return and touch up a few additional shingles. They returned and did the work as promised. This is a company that prides itself on quality work and customer satisfaction. I was extremely pleased with the work and the price. I believe I received great value for my money!

They came out on time. Quickly found the problem and advised me of what was needed and the cost involved. They were honest and forthright and did quality work. I was very satisfied with their service.

These guys are AWESOME! We have had other roofers and these guys are the most thorough, reliable, nice, and their quality is stellar. I can't believe how good my roof looks. They really understand cedar shake roofs. Ron communicates really well (let me know when he was arriving, would be finishing, what exactly he was doing, etc.). I recommend them very, very highly.

It was excellent. He stayed within the stated budget and did not push for additional work although we thought we needed it.
