I had hired Rainmaker (John Scully) a few years ago and all was great. Last April 2020, I hired them again to build a large planter area and plant trees in it as well as more trees and bushes around our backyard. It started out a little strange as John said Wells Fargo had closed his account snd he was having trouble cashing my check as he didn’t have an account. Hmm. All trees/bushes were planted and I questioned the fact that there weren’t any budding leaves showing. It was early in the season so I gave it time and was very diligent about watering, etc. Some trees got leaves and looked okay but there are 4 that never budded out and the branches were dry and brittle. I paid extra for a one year warranty. I started calling and texting Amanda and John starting last August. I have gotten no response after multiple attempts. I wanted to find out what nursery the trees were purchased through for the warranty. No response! The trees do not have any buds this year either. I have paid thousands of dollars for sticks! There were also other items that were not completed. I own a small business so I realize how important reviews can be and have waited and given them every opportunity to at least respond before posting this. I am at the point where I want to warn anyone who may hire them. DON’T DO IT!!!

This is by far the worst contractor that wee have dealt with. After researching the price of concrete we found that we were being charged more than 2 X the going rate. They say that they have been in business for 20 years when it's really only 8. We found them to be dishonest and they were constantly complaining that they were doing work for free when we were being charged for it per our agreement. We had several issues with their veracity which we brought to their attention. We paid them 10,000 (1/2) up front when the remainder was to be paid after all work was completed. They insisted that they would not come back to pour the concrete unless we paid in full prior to completion per contract. My advise would be to find someone who you trust and has a good reputation. It is our opinion that this company is not worthy of being referred by Angie's List.

"Interesting...this client did not pay per their contract and numerous change requests. We had to place a lien on their property and they still didn't pay, forcing pur small business to take a major financial loss and assign it to a collection agency. This couple also did this to the stucco company they hired before we met them. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] herself bragged to us about how she only paid him about half. We have numerous recordings, audio and video both, of our dealings with the [Member Name Removed]'s. Along with an entire file drawer of documents related to this issue and we urge any potential clients to ask us about this situation. With the bounced check and then credit card disputes, it cost our company upwards of $20,000.00 plus legal and collection costs for having met the [Member Name Removed]'s. We have hundreds of HAPPY clients, who are honest and paid for their project. If you are going to rip off small businesses, don't try to ruin their reputation too. This is a million dollar plus home owner against the [Member Information Removed] guy small business. We would be happy to put potential clients in touch with REAL clients, from various income and backgrounds, who will tell an honest story of our experience and their opinions of Rainmaker Landscapes."

The crew leader, John, came out to measure and provide an estimate in advance of the day of service. On the day of service, John arrived with his team (two others, Bill and another John) and promptly got to work to remove the old rock and bark and to insert the new edging. After using some of the old rock for the window wells, they left for lunch and to dump the remaining old rock and bark. After lunch they returned with the new rock and began placing it in position (lots of shoveling and hauling with wheelbarrows). They finished up by raking the rock level and rinsing off the dust. The entire process was complete in four to five hours. The result looks great!

FANTASTIC! The products they used are superior quality to others we saw offered, the concrete is amazing and beautiful. The shrubs and trees came looking amazing! The sod is so beautiful that it almost doesn't look real and everything has settled in perfectly. The staff both in the office, on the crew and the design/sales crew were so easy to work with and we really felt like they listened to what we wanted done with the landscapes. John offered his advice and knowledge in plant selection and design ideas and we have a truly amazing space that we just cannot seem to spend enough time enjoying, and best of all - All of our friends and neighbors are jealous! We are the envy of our neighborhood thanks to Rainmaker Landscapes! We will definitely refer and recommend this company to everyone! Thank you guys so very much!
