Quality Living IMP

I flew to Georgia to meet him. I paid him 400 up front. We had talked about doing other work, because my sister's house needs a lot of work. He said he would paint the house and re-do a room. I paid him up front for this. I was going to have him doing flooring. I mailed a certified check for 3600 dollars to the provider. This was to pay off the roof and add a room. From the day he got the check, he has disappeared. He says he has been sick and now no show, no call. He said he was talking to my sister, which was a lie. I flew down there to see what was going on and he was gone. This was all in the month of February. He was paid for not doing much. I had to hire another provider and purchase more supplies. He walked away with my money from my savings account. I've talked to the sheriff in my city. The sheriff called him last week to give him the check and no one had shown up. I want to sue him for this.
