Derek installed a new 4-ton air conditioner with modulating fan that has really changed the comfort of our home. Derek was extremely helpful and always ready to come over and tweak things as needed.

Derek was professional and on-time and listened and took account of the testing I had done. He fixed the problem and explained that the 'cracked' valve was almost certainly the cause of the problem so did not expect future fluid loss.Since the ambient temperature had fallen from the 90s to the 70s, he advised that he would have to return to validate the correct amount of fluid was now in the system - this he did a week or so later with no extra charge, and no extra fluid was needed. We were so impressed we signed up for an annual maintenance agreement which included 2 service visits per year.Would recommend RTP to anyone.Once again, Angie's list proves it's value.

"Thank You [Member Name Removed] for your kind review. Lets hope this spring/summer all is still good with your AC. Remember to change your air filter so you will get good air flow. Air Conditioners depend on good air flow. And keep your outdoor unit/condenser clean. Derek will be visiting you again :) Thanks again."

We discovered air conditioner not working on Thursday afternoon.  Called Littleton Heat & Air and the lady graciously scheduled us for service on Friday.  The repairman found the A/C unit totally welded closed and recommended repair, rather than replacement.  He spent almost four hours repairing our 22-year old unit at about 10% of the cost to replace it.  The service and skill were outstanding and the advice professional and honest.
Response from Littleton Heating & Air Conditioning
"Thank You. I am so glad that he was professional and honest. I preach this to all techs every day. I would suggest though that you would put some money a side. I assume your unit is still with R-22 refrigerant. They do not produce this refrigerant anymore and cost of it is going through the roof. And new unit will offset the costs of fixing it by being more efficient. Thank You again. ps. Do not forget to change air filter regularly it is more to protect the system then us :) ."

"Thank You. Just past a year since our service. Hope all still working good. Keep the air filter clean. We get so much dust that it is not friendly to our heating and cooling equipment. Thank You"

The service that Littleton Heating & Air Conditioning provided me went really well. They're really friendly and they showed up on time. The price they charged was reasonable. They're really knowledgeable on what they're doing. I have been using them for years now.

I called Littleton Heating to ask about having our furnace cleaned (I was very specific about cleaning, as we had a contract to sell our home and part of the inspection report requested the furnace be cleaned.) I was told that it would be $125 for the furnace to be serviced and I asked specifically if that included cleaning and was told yes, but it would not include issues that needed to be fixed that were found during the service. As soon as the technician walked in the door he had his price book in his hand to show me what all of my options were for his visit. I told him what I had discussed when I called and that I just wanted the basic cleaning. He then wanted me to pay for a certification, which I declined. He then told me there would be a $45 trip charge, which had not been mentioned before. When I told him that nothing had been said about a trip charge when I set up the appointment he called the office and they waived the fee "this time". After 45 minutes he came up and told me that he had two recommendations and he would write them on the invoice for me. Guess what his main recommendation was? That the furnace be cleaned. SERIOUSLY. $495.71 is the quote he wrote on the invoice and an additional $86.18 to determine why the furnace was short cycling. As a point of reference, if you are interested, our furnace was 6 years old and we have had no issues with it at all. We simply were following the request of the buyer's inspector, which seems pretty standard to me. I truly do not trust what I was told and I feel like because I turned down all the extra services they backed us into a corner by writing a bunch of expensive recommendations on the invoice that we have to provide to our buyer.  I will not use Littleton Heating for anything!

We looked at Angie's list for heating and cooling companies in Denver to install a whole house humidifier, and called Littleton.  The service manager called back the next day and we discussed our needs.  We decided to wait until the fall to have the work done so we could test it out.  When we called back, we easily arranged for them to come out and they came and installed the humidifier and new thermostat in less than a day.  The technician was friendly and competent.  He showed us how to use all the functions on the new thermostat.  We also received a nice senior discount.

Furnace breakdowns in winter are always "urgent".  Littleton Heating & AC was not the first Angie's List company contacted because they did not have as many "A" reviews as some others, but they were certainly the most responsive and were able to come right away which was great.  They offered both a $100 Angie's List coupon for new systems and a $45 Angie's List coupon for repairs.  I specifically asked the dispatcher whether they honor the coupon for the $89 minimum service fee that she quoted me.  She said yes, so I made the appointment not knowing whether I needed an $89 or an $890 repair.   Good news for me was that I only needed a very minor repair and it was covered under the $89 minimum.  Bad news is the technician said the coupon does not apply and the dispatcher was wrong.  He made an effort by calling his supervisor but was also told the same thing.  I paid the $89 and will never use this company again.  They seemed professional and were very responsive, but this policy seemed short-sighted, particularly since I will have to have more significant repairs done to the furnace before next fall.  If I was told up front it would be $89 in any case, this would be a normal review.

They came out to estimate the cost to repair my old furnace, which would usually incur a charge for travel time if repairs are not performed. The estimate for repair was fair but I decided to just get a new furnace, so he dropped the service visit charge and gave me an estimate for a new furnace. I shopped around and decided to use them based on the price and the level of professionalism of the gentleman they sent. The installers were prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable as well.

Prior to the installation, I called them to have someone inspect our furnace. It had been several years since it was inspected, and was 15 years old. I didn't want it failing in the middle of winter. The man who came out to do the inspection spent about 2 hours checking the furnace. This included removing some parts. Following the inspection, we went over the problems. He told me what I really needed to get fixed and told me when some repairs could be put off until later, even estimating how much later. When we totaled up the cost to repair everything, it came up to a little over $2,000. I asked (he did not suggest) how much more a new furnace would cost. For the additional money, and considering the 20 year warranty, I choose a new furnace. With that decision made, he reduced the cost of one of the repairs (as all of the repairs were not in the furnace) because with the old furnace removed, that repair would be easier to do.

They arrived on time. There was a crew of 4, of which one was a master electrician. I checked on them periodically, just because I was interested and curious. It was obvious that they knew what there were doing and took pride in their work. The electrician made some minor improvements to the basement wiring that was not connected to the furnace or a/c. He did that because the wiring code had changed and he didn't want me to have any problems with the inspector.

I couldn't have been happier and I will always use Littleton Heating and A/C.

I was in a rush to get the work done on this occasion which is why I did not use my usual AC company who would not be able to come out for almost a week. The folks at Littleton Heating and AC were able to come out the next day.

Everything other than the price was top notch.  I felt the fan replacement was too expensive.  I had the same thing replaced on another condo of mine right next door and it was about $150 less.

They did an excellent job. Their technician was very competent. He got here on time. Our furnace went out over the weekend. I left a message for them and he was here this morning at 8am to fix it. I did not compare prices with other companies but rhey quality was good and their responsiveness was excellent.

The service is prompt and professional. They did charge their fee for transportation to the site and did not absorb this cost, which is typically done. He did not look at my air conditioner, which I felt he should have done for the price I paid. So I was not happy with the amount of work that was done for the price. They did fix the problem quickly. But I also wanted the to look at the AC unit and they said that would be another job. It was an old furnace but I feel I got over charged for the part and they did not fulfill what I thought they would on the contract. I guess there is a division of labor between furnace and AC and that was not clearly explained to me. I did not receive a copy of the instruction list. I was not fully educated and I feel that is something they should look at doing. This company was 4 miles away and charged a $45 trip charge. I think there may be a new manager there. They are a premium Lenox provider.

Tech first came for a free estimate. Knowledgeable. Tech called back a few days later to talk about the estimate as well as to let me know of special pricing that was now available. On day of installation, tech was running late, but got a few calls from the office manager to keep me informed of his timing. Installation went as planned. After installation, the tech walked us through the system.

The service technicians arrived on time and got down to work immediately. Although it was a big job, they finished it up in a day. They had to stay until almost 8 pm, but they got it done. The unit worked perfectly and I have not had any problems with it. Technicians were courteous and clean. Sales rep Gino is a real sweetheart.
