They were super friendly and knowledgeable about what it would take to get my car fixed. They worked around my work schedule which was nice, and the price was awesome in comparison to many other local places.

My son's 1996 model Jeep had several issues that need attention and we knew he couldn't afford to fix them all. We asked Jim & Co. to make recommendations about what really needed attention to improve the vehicle's safety and drivability. This can be dangerous to ask a mechanic to build their own punch list for work, but I wanted to test and see how they responded. He looked at brakes, heating & cooling system, fuel system, tires and other miscellaneous items and made only one critical recommendation to replace the heater blower motor to get the heat running for winter. He completed the work that day on time and the total bill was only $172.00. Great people; very professional and I will be taking our cars back to them in the future.

When we called, they said to bring the vehicle in. They listened to what we thought was wrong and said they would call. They did call within two hours and explained what they had found, the price it would cost to fix it and said it should be done that afternoon. They called again that afternoon to let us know it was ready. My husband said he was afraid it would cost much more, so we were pleased with the quick service and the reasonable cost. Now my husband wants to take his truck in.

First of all, very friendly and easy to reach by phone and get car in quickly. All we knew was that we had a weird thumping that would happen in the front at seemingly random times while our Ford Explorer was in motion, during turns, going straight, going over a bump, etc., and then THUNK!
We prepared for the worst, cost-wise, but it wound up being an inexpensive fix that was quickly diagnosed, and we were grateful for the speed and simplicity of the service. We dropped it off after their closing time, and it was fixed by mid-afternoon the next day.
One thing I was surprised by was the cost of the oil change. When I used to buy quarts of oil to do it myself, the good stuff was maybe $1 or $1.50/quart retail. I think that some places still charge about $35 or $40 for an oil change (without various upcharges they may try to tack on), but when I saw the bill here, it was $56 for the oil change. A big part of it was that the price-per-quart of the oil was written up for $5/qt. What? But before complaining, I called a local auto parts franchise shop and asked what the current price for a standard quart of 10w30 oil is in their store. The answer: $5/qt. Wow. Times have changed. So, when I looked at the modest labor charge and the parts charges for the oil and filter, I see that this is actually a fair (if not great or very competitive) price.
Yes, I will go back to this shop. I am willing to pay fair prices to be treated fairly, rather than ultra-rock-bottom prices that are come-ons or that go with bad service or a long wait.

Jim did a great job. Accommodated a change in my schedule without any complaints. Everyone was very cheerful and the work was done the same day. Price was fair - not great, but fair and he kept the replaced part around to show me the work was done without me even asking. I would certainly recommend this shop. A much better alternative to going to a dealership.

I was told my the local Infiniti dealer that I needed new front wheel bearings on my 2003 Infiniti QX4. Estimated cost: $850. I took the car to Jim Millington (Jim &Company) for a second opinion. He said that front wheel bearings don't usually need replacing but he would take a look. I took the car in this morning and he just called with the results. The bearings are fine but had been reinstalled after 50,000 mile service packing (by an Infiniti dealer) with non standard screws holding a plate which keeps the bearings in place. The screws were loose. He said he would put in factory spec screws, tighten them up and we should be fine. I was also told by another repair shop (Tires Plus) that I needed a front end alignment. Jim said he saw some indication of that but thought his repair to the bearings could solve the problem. He suggested we wait 500 miles and he would check the alignment again. Jim is a one man shop and does all the work himself. He is an experienced mechanic and a straight shooter. He works on all models of cars. I will not hesitate to take my wife's Lexus to him when it needs any type of repair or service.

My teenage son's 13 yr. old car "died" in the school parking lot when he was picking up his schedule for the upcoming school year, and wouldn't turn over when he tried to start it. He started it with a little difficulty getting to the school, but when he was done, the car didn't do anything. I found Jim's Auto Services on this site, called him, and he said bring the car in and gave me the name of a reputable towing company that only uses flatbed trucks to bring the vehicle in (better for the vehicles). They were about $15 higher than another company I called, but they were friendly and were able to get there in minutes after my phone call. Another towing company I called was abrupt and said they couldn't get the vehicle till later. The towing company took my car keys and took the car to Jim's without me having to go there. An extra $15 for the convenience and good attitude was well worth the extra few dollars. He even added their bill onto his and he reimburses them. He called when the car arrived just to let me know when he would be able to work on it and called me even sooner than expected with an estimate, which was extremely reasonable to me (for a person who has no knowledge of cars and always being surprised in the past at how much a repair would actually end up costing). He did exactly what needed to be done and showed me the part that was bad. The cable from the battery to the starter (etc) was completely blocked and corroded at both ends. Instead of ordering an entire new cable, which would have probably cost me many times more than I spent, he put new ends on the cable, since the rest of the cable was fine. I can say with certainty that any other place would have just replaced the cable at a much larger cost to me. Being as naive as I am with car repairs, and knowing from past experience to expect the worst cost-wise, I was pleasantly surprised at the low cost of the repair and all of this was done in the same day. The shop is immaculate and in being a smaller shop, felt I didn't get lost in the money-making emphasis that people get from larger repair shops or dealerships. The owner takes pride in a job well done, is reliable, and most of all HONEST. Being a woman and finding the "world of auto repairs" intimidating is an understatement, to say the least. I will use this auto repair shop for future repairs and recommend it to family and friends. This place also had the best guarantee on work done that I've ever heard of - 12 months!

I called on a Monday and got the car in Wednesday. He gave us a quote, ordered the parts and we picked up the car on Thursday. I felt very good about the experience and that he was being honest and providing quality work.

I called in advance describing what another shop said the car needed. He gave me an accurate estimate over the phone that was much lower than the other shop. He did the work that was needed on time and within the estimate. The other shop had suggested replacing two sway bars, but Jim said they did not need to be replaced. He is professional and polite and honest. His shop and the restroom are very clean. I will definately take my business to him in the future

It went great. We are new to Denver, so we had to establish a new mechanic. When I first called, Jim spent considerable time telling me about his service, and about maintaining a vehicle in Denver, particularly in the winter. I set the appt and used the early bird drop off on my way to work. Jim called mid-day and went over the list of things the vehicle needed (and why) as part of the 90K service, but more importantly to me, he went over the things that were not needed, and why. How often does that happen with a mechanic? Bottom line, he completed the repairs on time and for about half to 2/3rds what it would have cost me at the dealer. I'll be back!

They provide a very good service. They don t try to charge us for repairs that aren't needed. They are honest and always do a great job. Because they are an independent auto shop, we have to work with them on their schedule if they get backed up. They do everything they can to work with us as well.

Jim took a look at the truck and gave us an honest estimate of cost and time before he even started the work. We went to Jim because he is an independent auto mechanic with a good reputation. He was able to replace the oil pan gasket without removing the engine, which saved us a lot of money. Jim and his staff are much more pleasant to work with than auto dealers. They focus a lot on customer service and care and are big advocates for honest service. With the Jetta, they were able to order a new cupholder (which was the 4th one for the car). He also checked the window and let me know what he thought it might be but did not recommend I replace that part because he was not 100% sure. I only paid for labor to have the door taken apart. The window still only works sporadically, but I am happy I did not spend $300 for something that might have fixed the problem.

Excellent!! They have done the work described on several of our vehicles and price has been lower than dealerships while the quality of work has been superior.
