"Let me first start off by saying that we do not discriminate based on any kind of demographics. Over 40% of the reviews listed are from clients that are retired. Let me also make clear that this was a fence repair, not a new install. This client had someone else build her fence, and she was unhappy with the results. In my professional opinion, it was not bad but could have been better. Hilde requested that we remove the pickets and replace them, which we did. She was very pleased with the install of pickets and sang our praises when she wrote the check. A few days later she called me and explained that she was unhappy because there were slight gaps between the pickets. I explained to Hilde that cedar will shrink and expand, this concept was also explained in detail before I received the deposit. That is the nature of cedar, it simply expands and retracts. Hilde was under the impression that if this did happen that it would take years. However, the truth is that if the wood is moist like it normally is when it comes from the mill, its nature is to shrink, and that happens within days, not weeks or years. I had asked Hilde if I could drop off the pickets prior to the install so they could sundry. She told me NO! Three days after the install Hilde called me and said I needed to replace 1-5 pickets, the following week she called me and wanted me to replace up to 30 pickets. I explained that I would be happy to come out and look at them, but I will only replace any pickets that are broken or cracked. I made two different appoints with Hilde, and she canceled both of them. The first appointment she canceled due to a doctor's appt, the second appt was on a Sat, and she canceled and because "I'm hanging out with my Jewish friends" (her words not mine). She was unhappy with the first contractor, she was unhappy with me, and she will more than likely be unhappy with the next contractor. Also, it is our policy that we get a deposit to hold a spot on the calendar. At no time did she mention to me to hold the check for any period of time. I did hold it for a week because that is my practice to limit my trips to the bank. I honestly don't know what else could have been done to correct this situation. I want all customers to be satisfied."
