Fish Window Cleaning

Last year I tried to hire Fish to wash my windows but they cancelled or failed to show for two appointments so we had someone else do them. This year I decided to try them again.. My experience was poor. After speaking to them following an email quote, I agreed to their choice of dates by an email I placed on their own site. When that day came and went I called them (~4 days later) and they told me they, "had a lot of emails" thus they didn't read my acceptance. We rescheduled for "early the next week". Mon, Tues, Wed came and went so Wednesday evening I called to see what the problem was with the appointment time. Oh, they were coming the next day, Thursday between 9 and 11. So the next morning my wife and I got up early, moved bookcases, a Christmas tree and furniture (They had told me earlier they wouldn't wash windows they couldn't get to easily). At 9:15 I got a call, "We can't come due to snow of the ground." But... it hadn't snowed last night, what was different since they scheduled 14 hours earlier? I plead my case, can you just come do the inside since we moved furniture for you. "No, my boss says we don't make enough money if we split the job." Well, I'll give this employee a B+ for honesty! I explained that we would just go ahead and wash the inside of our windows ourselves and do something different about the outside. Five days later, the owner calls and tells me they need to reschedule. I explained we planned to do something else. At this point he became indignant, lost his composure and had the audacity to ask me, "What is your problem?" Clearly he did not really want to know since as I tried to explain my experience I could feel the receiver heating up. Needless to say, the call deteriorated from there. When he raised his voice I hung up. The poor communication between office, owner and workers is a serious problem. The fact that they don't read the emails that they use to communicate with clients is problematic. The fact that they take clients for granted and reschedule for reasons that are questionable at best or are fabricated at worst is reason enough not to trust them further. The owner told me they don't put their employees at risk and they follow OSHA guidelines in regard to snow risk. What he failed to explain is why the snow risk was greater on Thursday than it was on Wednesday after a full day of sunshine and no additional snow.
