I'd recommend working with Dan on a major remodel project. I was referred by two separate individuals who also had remodeled their kitchens in past 3 years so I went in with high expectations and Dan delivered on time and on budget. Here are the things that are of note on the project. 1) Dan is very thorough in his initial interview to scope the project. He takes notes, asks questions and doesn't make assumptions. He points out concerns and also makes recommendations on alternate ideas to what we presented. 2) When he provides an estimate, he will take the time to come back and go through all your questions. This is great as both you and your GC should make sure you're on the same page for the scope of project. 3) If you've found a product - he'll use it. He's not married to anyone company for materials and he will perosnally go and check out a new source of material if it saves you money and is a quality product. 4) He subs 100% of his work. At first this was a concern to me, but I felt comfortable once he explained he has 15+ year relationships with his subs. He never uses day laborers and uses the same subs exclusively. I was comfortable with all of the subs in our home (you have to be comfortable having a lock box on the door and all of the workers having access to your home when you aren't home - we didn't have issues outside of them forgetting to lock up once. We talked to Dan immediately when we found the door unlocked and he addressed the problem. ) Even though all teh work is subbed, Dan was on site every day so we had a standing meeting at 8am most days for Q&A. 5) It's important to Dan to keep you on time and on budget. Hiccups will happen when you start removing walls and getting into electrical. But Dan did a great job of forseeing potential issues and then also working with us on alternate solutions from scaling back, differing some element for 12 months, or using alternate products to keep cost down when hiccups arise. He'll also tell you when to pay the Cabinent or Applicance people for install vs. him to ensure you keep costs down and have guaranteed work. 6) Flexible to add small tweaks into the project as things came up without ballooning your budget. 7) Likes dogs..or at least our dog. This was our first remodel of this scale, so I have little to compare to beyond watching HGTV - but we had a positive experience and love our new kitchen and living room/dinning area. There were a lot of moving parts but it all went smoothly with only a few annoyances which are impossible to avoid for something of this scale.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of kitchen, living room and dinning room. Included complete interior demo down to floor boards, wall studs, removing and relocating walls and then rebuilding. It was an 8 week project from start to finish.

Excellent. Work done as necessary to coordinate with re-roofing work. Quality of work excellent and cost within budget (this restorative work done for an estimated, not a fixed price).
Description of Work: This Co. was subcontractor to my primary re-roofing contractor. Performed removal and replacement of rotted fascia boards (behind old gutters), rebuilding of false chimney (resheathing, new brick veneer, flashing), and painting of new to match old.
