Ackerman & Son's did a fantastic job. We had a bit of an emergency furniture repair needed at the last minute due to out of town company arriving. Ackerman & Son's not only fixed the recliner at the 11th hour, he actually re-engineered the design that contributed to the spring failure. They went above and beyond in my view and you can't go wrong with Ackerman & Son's,

The new colors look fantastic! The painters are very careful to respect our property, their safety, leaving the job each day in such a way that there are no hazards while performing their job. We appreciate the quality of work and the consistent communication with Mark Ackermann, owner, as the job progressed. Very happy customer
Response from Ackerman & Son's Furniture Workshop
"We appreciate the review, but we are Ackerman & Sons Furniture Workshop. We do not offer interior or exterior home painting. I'd hate to mislead other Angie's List members regarding our services."

Can't say enough about these people. They went out of their way to help, they even changed a flat tire in the parking lot. The level of care and patience they showed while helping me decide what I wanted to do, and the level of craftsmanship while they did the work was superior. I was blown away when I saw the completed project. Wish I could upload pictures.

These guys are the best. They took a late 1800s rocker that was falling apart and missing wood and seat gone. When finished it looked like new - GREAT JOB!!!!

Also fixed our antique curio cabinet by fixing wood trim that was missnig and broken foot.

Only repair what we ask and have good recommendations on fixes.

They were prompt, curtious and on time with finishing as well as price.

I will definitely use them again for any other projects!!!!

They were quick, provided excellent quality of work, did no damage to needlepoint or wood, and we're honest about chairs that they felt didn't need work.

Good work, pricey. Didn't put Angie's list discount in estimate but did honor it.

We had an oak dining chair with a leg broken off, needed re-doweling, they did a fabulous job! It was on time and not inexpensive

but worth it, for our aging but quality chair! Due to age and dry Colorado climate, they were all getting 'loose in the joints' and needed glue/repair, so we decided to take all of them in, and they too were done quickly and professionally.

Thanks, Ackerman staff!   (the $160 is average for each chair, some needed more, some less, depending on condition)

They gave me an estimate. Told me it would take a few weeks to get to it. In the end it only took a few days. I was happy with the result.

Absolutely fabulous.   Very courteous & professional.  They came out and gave me an estimate on several pieces.  They did a fabulous job.  I never imagined that my old rocking chair would look so beautiful.

I have used Ackerman's several times.  Work is excellent, and always on time.  They become busier during the holiday season, so it's best to have work done at other times of the year.  They also have large selection of fabrics if you need to have something reupholstered.  We are fortunate to have them here in the Denver area.

You actually pay as they return the item. They are excellent. The quality of their work is fabulous. They did take a little longer than they had originally told me but part of that was due to holidays.

The staff at Ackerman & Sons were very patient with me.  I had never had cushions re-stuffed so had no clue as to where to start.  I brought my cushions in so that I could get an estimate and an idea on who could clean the cushions before they were redone.  The man who helped me with the estimate also popped the seam on each cushion and pulled out all the stuffing for me so that I could just take the covers to the dry cleaners.  I then took the covers back to Ackerman and they sent them off to get stuffed by another company that they like to use for that service.  They called me when my cushions came in and I have been very happy with the quality of the stuffing.  The kids, dog and husband can lean, squash and smash these pillows and they will go right back to shape with just a little fluffing.  This job was actually a small job to see how I was treated and how my job would be handled by this business.  We actually have a 1960s sectional couch that we now plan on having Ackerman & Sons reupholster.

I chose an inexpensive material and still feel the price was way above
the amount of work that was done. I would definitely recommend shopping around for prices.

Ackerman could not repair the original pieces as they were so old and dry and a previous restorer had used glue that could not be removed.  Ackerman reproduced an exact likeness for the rungs, and they did a beautiful job.  It now looks better than its mate.  I was very pleased.

They did a great job.  Good quality repair on a tough part of the chair.  You cannot even see where the wood was split.  My only complaint is how much it cost !!

Due to a pipe leak in our home our antique dining table was damaged.  I called Ackerman's for an estimate.  They came to my home for a small fee and gave me an estimate.  This was nice since I did not have to lug this large item to their shop.  They also came and picked up our table for the repairs/refinishing.  The table was picked-up on 7/2/2012 and the refinished product was delivered to our home on 8/30/2012.  You'll need to maintain patience.  This process is not quick and a little on the higher price side but ooooh sooo worth it.  Everyone we had contact with from this company showed high professionalism and was great to work with.  My dining table is magnificant.  Ackerman's Furniture did a outstanding job.  I will be saving my money for the next project. We moved from NYC to Boulder last year, and the top of our diningroom table got dented during the move.  It had been 15 years since it was last refinished, so it was time to refresh it.  Plus, we wanted to match our kitchen cabinet color, since the table wood was too yellow.  Found Ackerman's at Angie's List.  Ackerman's were quick to come out and give an estimate, and quick to pick it up and deliver it to their shop.  We took a color sample over at the end of April, and I picked the wood color closest to our pecan cabinets.  It was delivered today, and looks gorgeous!  The dent was steamed out, and the color is a good match.  Even underneath the two wings has been sanded and stained and finished, and that hadn't been done during the first 75 years of the table's existence.

When I brought in the headboard to the shop, I was given an estimated time of return of about 2 weeks.  They called after a week and a half to report the repair was done.  They did a great job with the repair, and were very reasonable on the price.  They will also come to your house for repair, but the rate is a little higher than dropping off at their shop.

When I called something to their attention, one of the owner’s son’s came out personally to take the chair back to the workshop to be adjusted properly at no extra cost. They were also on time and very polite, I would highly recommend.
