There were two young guys who came to our house and worked with us on an estimate and a site plan. We paid them in full and even gave them a few extra dollars for having to relocate some of the rocks they had placed. They committed, in writing, to a warranty of one year on the plants. If they died, they would replace them with free labor and only for the cost of the plants. In 5/10, we contacted them to say we lost plants. They said they were on a big job in Nebraska and would contact us when they returned. They never did and winter came again. We called them again in 5/11 and they said they were no longer in business and were going to school now. They said that we should be proud that we helped a couple of young people get their business off the ground. We asked for resolution and were willing to accept just the cost of the plants. They refused and never responded back to us again. Not only did we lose plants, but we also lost an aspen tree. I said I would be even more proud to recommend them if they had good business ethics. They never responded.
Description of Work: The landscaping company installed rock gardens, aspen, various plants, and a gravel yard for our dogs. Committed to a one year warranty on work; if plants died, they would install for only the price of the plants. In 5/10, many of the plants were dead. We contacted them and they said they had a big job in Nebraska and would get back with us later that summer. They never did. When we called them again this spring, they said they were no longer in business and going to school. Said we should be glad that we helped two young people get their business off the ground. We asked for resolution and they never responded. We had to replace the plants at our own expense (labor and materials). I would never recommend them to anyone, even when they are big grown ups and learn the value of ethical business behavior.
