Sky Systems LLC

The service went well, from scheduling to completion.  Our building requires vendors to call in advance and be admitting to a side door in the basement and then sign-in on the first floor before working in any individual unit.  Tom understood the rules and followed them all.   He assured me they would properly dispose of the dishes.  I had been unable to find anyone else to help with this because many services simply won't accept the dishes due to the various components, including the possibility of lead, used to manufacture and install these items.  I told Tom we didn't expect to use satellite tv in the future, but if we did, we would be sure to call his company.

Tom came out and removed an old satellite dish on our roof that was no longer in use.  He was courteous and responsive over the phone and promp about scheduling an appointment.  He came when he said he would be here and did the job in 20 minutes.  I was very pleased and it was a good experience.

I researched numerous local and nationwide Dish retailers after reading horror stories about installation when going through Dish or DirecTV (Sky Systems handles BOTH network installations). Most Dish/DirecTV customers will tell you to go through a great independent retailer/dealer. That would be Sky Systems. I found a few comments about them on blogs, but it was the perfect BBB rating (0 complaints? This is possible?) over 6 years in BBB that convinced me to give them a shot.

I called Sky Systems on Wednesday and got Tom on the phone right away. I had already researched the Dish Network programming options I was interested in, so we got right to the details of the job. I just moved into my house recently, and I had been under the mistaken impression that the wiring in the house was ready for installation, and this is the job that Tom was expecting. We set a schedule for Friday, only two days later.

Tom showed up with one of his techs on the later end of the window, but certainly within reason. As I showed them around the house, we quickly realized that the wiring in the house was mostly useless for this install, and would require all-new wiring. Realizing this was suddenly a much larger job, instead of brushing me off, they got right to work without any complaint or hassle.

The end result was very clean and tidy, with minimal wiring on the outside of the house. Some of the wiring went through the (currently unfinished) basement, but they kept the wires tucked carefully and out of the way everywhere in the installation. Without even being asked, they placed the cabling in such a way that it will not have to be moved when I finish the basement over the next year. The external points of entry were sealed with silicone (so cleanly I didn't notice it at first). Luckily, there was a pre-existing Dish mount, making it easy to get the new satellite on the roof.

From start to finish, these guys were professional, courteous, informative and helpful. The installation is hardly noticeable, and left no damage to the house, even where they made a new wall plate in the living room. I am new to satellite TV, but Tom got me understanding the system like a pro.

I could not be happier to have worked with Sky Systems, they certainly give Dish (and DirecTV) a good name.
