J QUALITY CONCRETE LLC

I needed an electrician to do some work on my new house and was referred to a young guy named Antonio Gusman. He does not speak English, so he brought along his half-brother Jesus Gomez to help with interpretation. They both did the electrical work on my house and everything came out great. Jesus seemed to be the one in charge for running the business, which apparently he calls "J Gomez Remodeling". Jesus and his workers did a few more things on my house, which he asked for half of the money upfront. That also went well and my trust continued to grow in working with this guy. Finally, I had a few really big projects that needed to be done, so Jesus again asked for half of the money upfront ($3000). I realize this mistake now, but at the time I had become too trusting and wrote him a check for $3000. This was on August 30, 2013. He kept saying he would start on a certain day then never showed up. I'd contact him and he'd tell me he needed another day or two. As of Wednesday September 18th he promised yet again he would be at my place "tomorrow" (the 19th)...and again never showed. He is not even returning my texts or phone calls at this point. I told him via text on the 22nd that if I do not get my money back this week I will be taking him to court. We shall see how this progresses. I will post updates. 9/27/13: No response from Jesus and I've filed with the Better Business Bureau. He has until October 9th to pay me back, then I will be taking him to court. I just learned today that he has done this to several other people as well, so he may attempt a fake name at some point.
