Austria Motors Inc

First let me say I love my car - enough so that I was willing to spend money to fix it by replacing the engine that died.  It came down to either replacing my old engine or buying a used car both of which in my mind were going to be considerable expenses.  My husband and I didn't want another car loan and wanted to pay cash for either replacing the engine or purchasing a new/used car.  Thus said in the end we decided to replace the engine on my Mazda Protege 5.
I ordered my engine from a company out in California that deals in Japanese Take Outs and had it shipped directly to Norbert at Austria Motors. That cost was $149 in shipping and $979 for the engine.  It took about 4 days for the engine to arrive at the shop and it took Austria Motors about 3 weeks to get the new engine installed.  We had to order some additional parts since the Japanese engine was a little different than the original engine.  Also we had them put in a new manual transmission and some other parts so when they were all said and done it was like having a new car.  I have had absolutely no problems with the car in the 2 years since Austria Motors had done all the work. I felt the service I received was professional, and the workmanship was superior.  I think what we paid when we were all said and done was acceptable and reasonable for all that went into replacing the engine on my little car.   My family has been going to Austria Motors off and on since 1987 when Norbert's dad ran the shop.  I trust them and have never felt taken advantage of and have always felt like I was treated fairly - this means a lot to me since I know very little about cars and I am a woman and often times have felt leary of other mechanic shops.
