I won’t go into any specifics because as soon as the courts open on Monday I will be there filing a claim against the company and quite possibily against the outside sales person and the owner. All I will say at this time is that I very much encourage anyone with an estimate/contract to be very careful. I would not recommend them if they were in fact the last roofing company in town. There will be much more to come once I find out how much more I can say, legally. Final payment hasn’t been paid as we have damages, the job is not complete and we don’t have a permit in our possession nor have we passed any inspections. Thank goodness I have photos of everything including the child one of the guys brought to the job site for the entire day.

My experience with Aspen Roofing and Exteriors was a nightmare. Dealing with the owner after the issues were discovered was the worst part of the situation. He is very unprofessional, did not come back to my house to investigate the serious issues that his installers caused, and did not accept any phone calls from me and would only communicate through email/text. Resolution only came after participating in the arbitration process provided by the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Halaburka refused to participate at first, which resulted in the suspension of his accreditation. Only after the suspension did he choose to participate. After hearing both sides of the case, my remaining balance with Aspen was ordered to be zeroed, and Aspen was ordered to pay me for the items that they had blatantly lied about replacing. Of course, he drug his feet again, taking two months to send payment. Below is a detailed description of my situation. My issue came up when my heater came on for the first time of the year on 11-19-2016. It came on in the middle of the night, and the furnace began blowing carbon monoxide fumes into my home and continued until the unit was manually shut off. This was a very dangerous situation as I have a one year old and a ten year old in the house and they were exposed to these fumes until we knew something was wrong and shut the unit off. A very reputable air conditioning company came out to diagnose the problem. They thought it was the furnace causing the issue due to the age of the unit, so we agreed to replace the furnace. Come to find out at 2am, when the new unit was having the same problem, ASPEN ROOFING AND EXTERIORS INSTALLED THE FLUE PIPE CAP INCORRECTLY. The cap was completely pushed against the pipe and painted over, not allowing any of the carbon monoxide fumes to leave my home. Once they pried the cover off, the unit started exhausting properly. Mr Halaburka's response was "not my fault, it passed inspection." Although it did pass inspection, the city inspector never went on the roof and never set foot inside my home which is required when inspecting the ventilation from the new roof. My family was exposed to these fumes and my house could've caught on fire. He lied about doing a final inspection on my home. He stated that he came back to the home and did a final inspection after the roof was installed. Someone is at my home at all times and he never set foot on our property again. Mr. Halaburka was on "vacation" during the week even though his assistant said she would have him call when he arrived at the office on Monday 11-21-2016. I NEVER received a call from him. Mr. Halaburka was very rude in his email/text communications and actually threatened to put a lien on my home even though my account with him is in good standing. He also threatened to sue me for defamation if I accurately reviewed my experience with his company. Mr. Halaburka also submitted supplementation to my insurance for items he had no intent on replacing. It was only after my initial issue occurred that I found that several items on the final insurance document were not replaced. When questioned about this, he stated that he could not provide a list of supplies that were used on my house. This was another lie as he tried to sneak the list in at the last minute to the arbitrator, which was thrown out due to his refusal to provide me with a copy. This company operates in a very shady manner and anyone researching should be extremely cautious of any online reviews. I have found several examples on Google and Facebook where family members of Mr. Halaburka and employees have scattered reviews in between the actual customer reviews. He actually blocked my account on Facebook so that I couldn’t submit my review of his company. I would assume that I am not the first customer he has done this to. This situation was a nightmare and I wish I would have done more research prior to signing the contract with Mr. Halaburka. He is extremely unprofessional and does not care about correcting problems that his crew caused.

They removed the old stucco and roof. The initial sales people were prompt and professional. They responded very quickly after the hail storm. They communicated with me very well on when they would be here. They also know about the insurance business. They dealt with the insurance company which made it easy on me. They let me know what I needed to do with the insurance. I thought it was great. They found some issues with my roof. They tore off the old roof. You are only supposed to have 3 layers of roofing, but I had 4.
The guy also knew his work for the siding. He talked me into it and did a great job. As he was working on my house, we had some electrical and plumbing issues, and he was able to get contractors out her quickly and deal with it. He made sure my home was useable while they were working. The job went wonderful. When they finished everything, we did a walk through and fixed the issues that I caught. Lastly they cleaned everything up and no debris was left in my yard.
