I contacted this contractor to submit a bid for the job on 9/3/2013. We agreed on a deal and signed a contract on 9/10/2013. We had to pay half down at the the time of the signing,which I thought was not very professional. We were told that the approximate date for the install would be a couple of weeks (9/25/2013). They cashed the check on 9/12/2013. When I called them the following week to make sure we were still on tract , and after several calls I was told the material would be in on 10/11/2013 and they would schedule our job the following week. A crew showed up on 10/15/2013 and stripped the old roof off and then when they showed up the following day they realized that some incorrect parts had either been ordered or shipped by mistake. The correct parts were supposed to be in on 10/23/13. In the mean time they put on most of the roof on the 10/19,20,21/2013 only to somehow end up short of materials, due to a mistake in either ordering or installation. I was told the rest of the material would be in on 11/8/13. They showed up on 11/11/13 and finished the job. Several times during this ordeal I tried to contact the owner Mr. O'donnel and he never returned any of my calls. Getting information from Tony the foreman was like pulling teeth. In the past I have never waited more than 2 weeks to have a new roof installed, maybe this is different for metal roofs but I feel that 2 months from signing to finished roof seems a bit much.

I obtained 4 quotes for replacing my roof and I thought that Jack Bass with A1 was professional, the price was pretty good, and the quote was itemized instead of one lump price. I also liked that he seemed upfront with me - he included the cost of plywood sheathing in the quote because he went into the garage and said he could see that I would require that (the spacing between the wood was more than allowed by inspectors). No one else had mentioned that. He initially talked me out of impact-resistant shingles saying that the insurance companies liked them because they didn't have to pay to replace the roof in the future. However he thought that they would break on impact and be unsightly. When I called me insurance company they convinced me to look into the impact resistant shingles further, and the discount seemed worth it to me. I called Jack back to discuss and he said he had asked around and it turned out that the newer shingles did not easily deform with hail, so I decided to get them. 
The roof replacement was uneventful and the new roof looked great. The gutters were installed a few days later. There was some drama involving the swamp cooler - either the water line to the cooler was punctured by the roofers or (as one person concluded the third time it started leaking) chewed on by squirrels. Either way, I was grateful that Jack arranged for the tubing to be replaced at no additional cost to me the first time (the second time, after it was concluded that squirrels could be the culprits, I had to hire a plumber to put in copper tubing). 
I have had some issues getting a partial reimbursement on my landlord insurance for the impact resistant shingles - despite contacting Jack and State Farm a few times I'm not quite sure if they have communicated regarding this. But it's not exactly a time sensitive matter. Overall I thought the company was responsive and did good work.

Everyone makes an occasional mistake; the difference is in how the mistake is rectified. We discovered a leak; workers had apparently left out a flashing. A-1 responded flawlessly 8 years after the original job. They tore apart the affected chimney framing and replaced the damaged material at no cost to us. A-1 never questioned whether they should perform this repair. I would definitely choose them again.

A1 Roofing was awesome to deal with. I am in the process of selling my home and sale was contingent on getting a new roof put on. I am also in the process of buying a home and so cost as well as someone to take care of every detail was very important to me. A1 sent out a person right away (within 2 hours of my initial phone call) to meet with the insurance adjustor and they then took care of every detail from obtaining permits to completing the install in a very timely manner. Nate has been awesome to deal with and when I needed to figure out how to get payment to them, he came over and picked it up himself. Everyone I have dealt with has been very professional and worked within the insurance company guidelines in order to get things done quickly and I escaped this whole ordeal only paying my deductible. The roof looks great and the buyer is very happy! They provided a full warranty and have been readily available for all of our special requests and needs. I would highly recommend A1 Roofing to anyone in the area looking to have roof repairs or new installation.

While we were planning on having our roof replaced later this year, we moved it up as a result of finding a disconnected furnace pipe in the attic which resulted in mold and moisture on the roof-boards and rafters.  We decided to move up the roof replacement and have the affected roof-boards replaced as well.  It was a cheaper alternative to doing mold mitigation on the boards and, as it turned out, was a necessity as some of the mold had gotten through to the topside of the roof-boards. A-1 Roofing worked with us every step of the way in coordinating with the mold mitigation providers.  The contact person was extremely knowledgeable and included many extras into his estimate.  Admittedly, their price was higher than other estimates but we were very impressed with the quality of service and would not hesitate to use them or recommend them.

The experience with A-1 roofing exceeded my expectations completely. The interaction with their sales person was fantastic and extremely efficient. The job ended up being slightly more involved than originally anticipated. Yet the price remained the same. They even removed three unused chimneys that were deteriorating, rather than flashing around it. The work was done extremely fast, with little to no inconvenience. My home is over 100 years old and this roof makes it look fantastic again. I never expected it to look as good!!

Everything turned out ok. There was an incident where they broke our atrium window. However, they took responsibility and they fixed it. The bid was reasonable and the work was good.

This place helped me a great deal. I had an insurance issue and was battling with the insurance company about the hail damage that happened and they were able to speak up for me to the agents and made sure that it was covered. I think they are good because they went that extra mile for me and I was so very happy for that.

THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER. I THOUGHT IT WAS A VERY REASONABLE PRICE FOR ALL THE WORK THEY PERFORMED. THEY TOOK CARE OF ALL THE INSPECTIONS AND REGULATIONS REQUIRED BY THE STATE, WHICH GAVE ME CONFIDENCE IN THE INTEGRITY OF THE COMPANY. THE WORKERS CLEANED UP EVERYTHING AND TOOK GREAT CARE NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE LANDSCAPE WHILE THEY WORKED.
