KAREN'S COMPANY

I am appalled and utterly disgusted about the malfeances of this company. My husband worked for this company. Was informed he would be given an x amount per hour when he first started. 3 months afterwards his hourly wage was reduced. No written notification was given. No authorization from my husband to reduce the pay. Just in February once more his wage was reduced. Again with no notification from Karen . Twice in the span of 7 months this was not legally informed to him. When I spoke with Jeff of the company he told me Karen found his work not to be up to par for the initial hourly rate. So I wonder why she couldnt be a professional and legally give him the notification of the lowered wages. To go about it without informing is quite petty. Someone who claims such high caliber and professionalism was very tactless about it. Once my husband quit, they demeaned him and tried to guilt him, stating it was rude of him to not give his notice. However, is this state not an "an will state ?" Does that not indicate that the company knows they are at risk of losing money if an employee quits... They told him to reimburse this company a measly amount and threatened courts if it wouldnt be paid. They called it and advance pay for health insurance. So ... Now you, this company, is wanting legal action? Although from your part, you did not legally notify him of reduced wages ? Its very unprofessional and actually hypocritical. No paper was given or shown to prove that in this " at will state " he would need to advance pay for health insurance purposes. I can care less about the minimal amount owed. But it's imperative to portray their lack of communication, paperwork, and legal notification. I have to say this company has been the utmost unprofessional. I'm ecstatic we are rid of their negativity and biased ambience. To Karen and her company.... Good riddance.

I contacted Karen's Company and arranged an appointment for an estimate for 4/18/2014. Jeff, from the company, came out and we discussed what I wanted and he went about his inspections. Upon completion, he indicated that he would email the estimate. So, far so good. On April 30, 2014 I still did not have an estimate so emailed the company asking, and quot;Are you going to send me an Estimate?and quot; I received a reply that included, and quot;We strive to get back to our prospective clients without a delay, but sometimes making sure our current customers get excellent service takes our focus.and quot; If the intent of this was to make me feel valued as a customer, it did not. Three weeks later, on 5/20, I finally received an estimate for $5811.00. 60+% more than some other estimates I received and not even close to the highest estimate I received. I like to keep my business local however, in the words of the TV show, and quot;Sharksand quot;, and quot;I Am Out.and quot; Based on this experience I would not contact this company for any of my future painting needs. Thanks.

We had Karen come to give us an estimate on a house that we were under contract, but not yet owners of. Due to this fact we had several contractors scheduled to come within a couple hours (purposefully staggered to avoid overlap.) We made her aware of this and she took an extraordinary amount of time poking around, and then stuck around for a long time even after she was done speaking with us, which made things uncomfortable with the next contractor that came to give an estimate. Our realtor, who was present, even commented on how unprofessional she was.Her estimate for exterior paint was almost DOUBLE what other, well reputed, painting contractors estimated, for the same level of work. Her interior quote was so high we just decided to just do it ourselves. I wish we had known that her estimates were not typical. We had hoped to get an interior quote from the next contractor, but he was not happy that she was still lingering around (he had worked for her in the past) so we ended up not getting a quote from him for the interior. She may do good work (she better at the prices she quoted,) but I would never consider recommending her to anyone else. If you do choose to get an estimate, make sure you get estimates from other painting contractors as well!

They were professional. They did a very good job.

In general they were very flexible and accommodated our shifting schedule. There were some concerns with the quality of the work by the first person that came out, but Karen addressed the issue by getting someone else out that did a much better job.

We are a repeat customer and will certainly be again! They are so great go work with and do such a fabulous job! Thank you for Another great job!

Getting in touch with Karen was quick, easy, and she was prompt in showing up for our appointment and getting a quote to us. She suggested some subtle color picks that we appreciated, and explained her choices of paints and materials to us so that we could best understand how we should approach the work. I think where the overall job went a bit awry was when Karen had to deal with an employee leaving her company somewhat unexpectedly. This threw scheduling into bit of a tailspin, and our job looked to be a little bit on hold. Where this could have been a 3-day job, it actually ended up getting spread out for a little bit more than 2 weeks. While I understand that Karen had to deal with unexpected staffing concerns, we would have appreciated something along the lines of a discount or partial refund for the amount of inconvenience we had to go through in order to schedule time off from work, keep furniture moved out of the way, and so on. Overall, her and her painter's work was excellent and definitely helped us sell our home even 2 years after the work was done. What we paid for the work, all problems aside, I believe was fair if the work had been completed on time.

Karen and her crew are the best. Our first job with them was refinishing a huge double door at our entrance that had been destroyed by the sun. Her assistant worked on it as though it was a piece of art and the result was astounding. He also figured out a very clever way of painting a fence with spray paint without 'painting' the grass, and saving us alot of money for labor. The best job was a very large kitchen. Her crew was meticulous and spent an entire day taping and then trowelling to give a variegated surface. That was followed by two coats of paint. Karen was invaluable in advising us on colors. The next time I have a painting job she is the only person I will contact.

The workers were all knowledgeable and professional.It is so nice to work with a vibrant local company that respects both their workers and their customers...It really shows in the results.We will use Karen and her crew again!!!

Karen's Company painted the exterior of my home 10 years ago, and I had them back this year to do some touching up. The owner, Karen, is personally involved in each job - she comes out to do the estimate and comes back when the job is started to go over everything with her crew. She is a total pleasure to work with and it is obvious she knows her stuff. The crew arrived exactly when they said they would and they were also very pleasant to deal with. The job looks great and I know it was done right. The entire house will need to be repainted in another couple of years, and I wouldn't dream of calling any other company (and neither should you!).

Karen is so professional. The painters arrived on time and were very respectful of my furniture and plants. The paint job was superb. The painters were all very nice and respectful. At the end a painter came back for the few finishing touches. I'd recommend them highly.

I LOVED HER IDEAS AND TOLD HER TO GO FOR IT! WE HAVE A THEATER IN OUR BASEMENT AND SHE ENCOURAGED ME TO GO WITH A DARKER COLOR TO MAKE IT SEEM MORE LIKE A REAL THEATER. I WAS A BIT NERVOUS, BUT TRUSTED HER AND IT LOOKS WONDERFUL. SHE DID A GREAT JOB. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE OUR PAINTER!!!
