Painted deck in 2022, entire deck was chipping 1 year later. Owner came out and said it wasn’t their fault and blamed the shirwin williams paint.

We had an excellent experience with John Salopek and his team from Brushstrokes. He was knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted and helped us avoid doing anything beyond what was needed to keep our house in excellent condition. We had an unusual request, wanting to paint a front bay window that was a difficult material to paint. He talked to us about how to ensure the window paint would last over time. He and his team were professional, very neat and tidy, and careful painters. He was easy to communicate with, always followed through with all of the details and they finished the job right on time. The quality of the painting is outstanding and we could not be happier--and that bay window looks gorgeous. He completed the job under estimate. John was always prompt and provided good estimates. Mike did the painting, texturing and installation of the hardware. Mike is an excellent painter and craftsman. He even stopped at the store to pick up longer screws for my front door and installed them which was not part of the bid. They take their time and make sure the job is complete and done right. Having this attention to detail and taking the time is what separate good craftsmen from great craftsmen I am planning to have them back for several other projects over the next year. So please don't call them until all of my work is complete :)

John and his crew painted the exterior of our mostly brick house in late 2011 for about $2200, after we had patio work done and needed to have that area repainted before we could move items back to the patio. His quote was reasonable for the entire house, so we had him do it all, instead of just the patio. The house is a brick ranch, with wood siding around a front porch, large garage doors and peaks above the doors, the patio area (all wood, about 15' x 15' plus ceiling), and the usual wood trim around windows, above the brick, and all the eaves. His guys also fixed a wood support and some wood fascia that had been damaged during the patio concrete work (this was a little extra). We called John again in fall 2012, when we needed to have a basement bedroom painted prior to company coming. He squeezed this into his schedule for us and did another very nice job. The bedroom cost about $500 to have multiple coats, plus the closet doors and bedroom door, and different trim on the baseboards, doors, and around the windows. Brushstrokes does very high quality work, and John and his crew have always been a pleasure to work with.

There is nothing I can suggest for improvements. Brushstrokes met every expectation. Appointments were kept in a timely manner and work commenced when I was told it would. As I referenced above the quality of work was excellent. The quality of paint used was also premium. .

Tom Baldwin, the owner, was professional, personable and a pleasure to do business with. His staff was excellent and I thought his price was outstanding compared to what I paid to have my house in NJ painted. The final results are fabulous!
