Autowerks East

It was a complicated problem, and they had to take a lot of things apart to fix it. They were on time and very professional. Their hourly rate was lower than that of the others in the area. My experience with them was very good.

Autowerks East did a really great job of diagnosing a problem with my Mercedes that the dealership could not. I found them to have a level of knowledge beyond what the average mechanic has. I was driving and the emergency engine light came on- I called Autowerks and the owner told me to bring my car to the side of the road, turn my car off and then restart it to "reboot" the computer and see if the light goes off. I did, and it did, so that was great. Greg at Autowerks said I should bring it in to see if it was more than just a computer glitch or something simle like a loose gas cap (which I didn't take seriously). I declined, and decided to go to the dealer who kept my car overnight, and said it was fixed-just needed to have something reset. After I got my car back- guess what- the light came back on. I decided to call Autowerks again and ended up bringing it in. While I was standing there the mechanic checked the gas cap- it was loose (I'm not kidding!!)...and my problem went away. While I was there he fit me in for a regular service -that the dealer didn't even offer, but if they had I'm sure it would have cost me a lot more (about 30%)! Autowerks East also pointed out a couple of small things that will need to be taken care of at the next service but it was great to know in advance.
