Perfection Coating & Handyman Services,
About us
Howdy Neighbor!!! Folks around here call me "Cowboy Jim" (Owner of Perfection Coating & Handyman Services, LLC). I am based out of Johnstown, Colorado but I will travel almost ANYWHERE for the right opportunity. My Primary specialty is Interior/Exterior Painting, Refinishing or Refubishing Decks or Fences, or Deck & Fence repair. However, I AM and ALWAYS have been a HANDYMAN!!! (35 years experience). I am fully Licensed and Insured (2 million Dollars of Liability for every property that I or my crew works on). On ALL of my projects I extend a 2 year waranty that is fully transferable to any new owneships. I can also accept ALL major credit cards to possibly help you schedule your projects easier. This time of the year with the added pressure of our economy and the holidays, many companies are offering reasonable discounts for their services. Although this may be attractive to most people, I have found that too many shortcuts are taken when you discount your services too much. I will NEVER claim to be the cheapest in the industry!!! However, my prices are fair, and below market standards. I will NEVER trade off my PERFECTIONIST ways for a lower price. I am a man of GREAT integrity and HONOR. I think that we can all agree that is a rare thing these days. I am prompt, reliable, EXTREMELY neat and organized, detail oriented to a fault at times, and I often take that extra step to take care of something that my customers were not expecting. I know many people have delayed painting the EXTERIOR of their homes or structures the past 3 seasons. However......It's NOT TOO LATE to paint your exteriors. I primarily use Sherwin Williams paints that are designed to be used as low as 35 degrees, and up to 85 degrees. These paints have a minimum of a 15 year gurantee as well. As far as interior painting, I use ZERO V.O.C. Paints. We can match any color, and even give you some interior design ideas. Pricing can vary from project to project. It is always best to estimate this is person. My estimates are ALWAYS free of charge!!! Some projects that I do are done as an hourly rate (Most Handyman Services are priced this way) My hourly rate for SMALL projects are $60.00 for the first hour, an $40.00 for each additional hour, PLUS any material costs. I DO NOT mark up materials like most companies either!!! I only charge you what I pay for those materials, and those are usually discounted due to my contractor status. Painting prices average at about $300.00 for an average INTERIOR bedroom, and EXTERIOR painting AVERAGES at about $2,200.00. Please keep in mind that these are AVERAGE Prices. Please feel free to call me at: 970-593-8282 for a FREE estimate! (I prefer phone calls over undependable emails.) Lastly, I literally have HUNDREDS of references and pictures that I can provide to you BEFORE we even meet for an appointment. (I DO NOT pre-screen my references either.) I greatly look forward to working for you and your family. Have a great day, and KEEP ON SMILING!!! COWBOY JIM PERFECTION COATING & HANDYMAN SERVICES, LLC 970-593-8282

"In December 2011, I talked to the customer about the caulk shrinkage issue. I highly dispute that we rushed any of the work that was completed. It took me, and my crew of 3 men to completed her 2 homes to be re-painted and repaired 9 days to complete. The customer and her husband did a VERY thorough inspection of both properties. At that time, they approved the work, and appeared to be completely satisfied. In December 2011, I returned to both properties to touch up caulk that had shrunk over the last 8 months. I called her, and left a message on her voice mail to let her know that the work was completed. In April 2012, the customer called me to set up an appointment to bid for additional work. She indiciated that she was going to meet with me in a week or two. I never heard back from her until I received a complaint a few weeks later on this site. At that time, I left 3 voice mail messages for her in an attempt to resolve these issues. She never returned my calls. I would have gladly met her at her properties to resolve these issues, but she chose to leave this horrible complaint on this site. I can assure those that read this that I have an excellent reputatuin in this business. I have over 200 references in the last 6 years. It disturbs me greatly that hse was unsatisfied. However, if she will not contact me directly, or meet me at her rental properties, I do not know what else I can do for her."
I contacted Cowboy Jim who said that he purchased caulking and would rectify the issue.
It's now May of 2012 and no warranty work has been performed.
We had a very mild winter and this work could have been completed in Jan or Feb. It's May and still no sign of the 2 year warranty.
"I did go out and complete the warranty work in December 2011. This is news to me that she still feels that this was not done. She had contacted me in April to inquire about other projects that she had wanted done, but never set up a time. I am sure that if we had met in person she coild have shown me the areas that were still of concern for her. It is hard to accept a bad review when the customer does not communicate with you, or allows you the opportunity to correct any of the items under warranty."
My biggest concern was meeting the deadline. Jim assured me that he would meet the deadline and he did. Jim and his crew were on time and very good to work with. Jim is very demanding and in a business such as his this is a much needed trait. He demands a lot from his workers and from himself.
No job is perfect and there are always unforeseen challenges and issues that need to be handled. Jim brings his dog to the job site and on two occasions "Jack" wondered off and Jim needed to go find him. When every minute counts trying to meet a deadline this only added to the stress. Jim did decide to leave "Jack" at home for the rest of the time. When Jim was backing out of the driveway His vehicle hit my vehicle. The damage was minor. Jim did not make any excuses, he took full responsibility, gave me his insurance information and the vehicle will be repaired with out a problem. The painted trim was left out side and it rained. This caused extra work. The trim had to be cleaned before it was installed. The trim was not damaged just very dirty.
There was extra work that Jim completed and extra work that I completed. It was very stressful at times, however everyone was able to work together and the job was completed on time and to my high level of expectations. I gave Jim a well deserved overall rating of A and I truly believe he deserves it. The exterior of my rental will need to be painted in the near future and Jim will be the front runner for consideration.
Thank You Jim,
Mike and Joanne
"I was extremely happy to work with these members. I realize that they were not always happy with my punctuality. In their case I was delayed many times due to 2 other job sites that I was trying to run, and I had a new employee that was quite disappointing when HE did not show up at the time I told him to be there. That employee no longer works for me, and I have found 2 new employees that are outstanding at their punctuality. Other than some weather delays, this project was completed in the amount of time (HOURS) that I estimated on the contract."
