Sonny was initially very responsive, descriptive of the how he would do the work, considerations, etc. However, after he came to my house to scope the project, he said he would send a proposal to me. When he was scoping the project I told him I had three areas he needed to take into consideration: 1. The slope of the ground and the removal of sod and dirt to ensure new concrete would be even with the existing sidewalk; 2. Irrigation lines where the new concrete would go would need to be plugged and 3. My neighbor's decorative rock siding that abuts the line the new concrete would be poured next to would need to be left in place and not damaged. After studying the area the concrete would be poured, he said these three points would be no problem. I never received a proposal. However, he called me a few days later to confirm our "appointment" on the coming Tuesday. I reminded him I never received his proposal. He said he had been in the hospital, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but told him I would not be ready for him to perform the work until I received his proposal with a firm quote. I received that proposal the next day and we agreed on a date for the work. Sonny and the team arrived on time and worked diligently throughout the day and completed the pouring and leveling of the concrete that day. He said his team would come back the next day to removed the pile of dirt that resulted from removing sod and topsoil for the new concrete, repair my neighbor's rock siding that had partially collapsed, re-install the gate they removed to pour the concrete and remove the forms at one end of the new concrete. He also confirmed that they plugged the existing irrigation lines but asked that I wait a few days before turning on the sprinkler system so that the water would not get on the new concrete. Sonny and his team were courteous and professional throughout the day, and at this point I was pleased with their work. As I was writing Sonny the check for the agreed fee, he told me he had underestimated the amount of work it was to removed the dirt where the new concrete was to go and asked if I could pay him more. The next day they removed the dirt pile and part of the forms on one end of the new concrete; but they left the stakes that were deep in the ground holding the forms, did not fix my neighbor's rock siding and did not re-install my gate. The next day I texted Sonny and asked when they would return to complete their work. I never received a reply in spite of me calling and sending additional texts. Consequently, the following week I spent several hours repairing my neighbor's rock barrier and reinforcing it so it would not collapse. I also had to enlist some help to re-install my gate as it was too big and heavy to maneuver into place alone. That same day I turned back on my irrigation system and water started shooting up around the new concrete. I then reached out to Sonny (voicemail and text) and explained the situation and asked that he prioritize this repair as they had obviously not plugged the irrigation lines correctly. Several days went by with no reply. Eventually he responded and said he would get his guys out there right away to take care of the situation. A few more days went by with no communication. I texted him again and asked when exactly he and his crew would come to fix the irrigation lines. I never received a reply. So over the weekend I ended up fixing the irrigation lines myself. In retrospect I should have held back a substantial portion of their payment until all details were addressed. My advice to you is DO NOT HIRE SONNY!!!

This company did such excellent work!! I would highly recommend, HOWEVER before total money paid, hold some back until clean up and completed job is TOTALLY done. That is all that this company failed to complete. We paid cash because they needed to pay workers day of and relied on a verbal commitment to perform other small job, our bad, don't believe them or get it in writing. Sorry Sonny but my requests seem to have fallen by the wayside. I'll now need to hire someone to complete backfill and return disturbed flagstone to it's original place since my husband can not do it due to his surgery. So disappointed! Sure hope those I've recommended to our local Nextdoor read this review first. You would have gotten a A+ if you had followed through with finishing cosmetic work.
