I hired Jason to paint the inside of my house. I gave him a sample board from an existing wall so that he could match the cream color, which he assured me he could do. He was to be finished when I came back from Chicago, at which time I would check the work and pay him. A couple of days before my return, he started demanding, in a panic, I send him 4000.00. I was worried so I sent him a check, but held the funds. THANK GOODNESS. I walked into my home and the whole inside of my house was PINK. I asked him for a reasonable bill for the primer coat but I would not pay for the pink coat. He tried to charge me 4345.00, when only about half of wall space needed primer He got an attorney, filed a lien, and I sued. He got a judgement for only the appropriate amount. 2100.00.
Jason also wanted the tile work I needed done, so I let him bid on it, but gave specific instructions not to touch it because it was still under review from insurance co. He took it upon himself to tear out a marble shower floor. It was laying in the yard when I pulled up. He was working under the idea that if he had started the work, I would let him finish.

When I talked with him he assured me he was an experienced painter. He was not.
