TOPS HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

When I bought my home, I the prior owner had the HVAC system maintenance and cleaned as part of the sale. When I moved in, my allergies were terrible, so I had a vent/duct cleaning done by another company.... they showed me the furnace was caked with dirt and gunk. I called Tops, sent them photos of the dirty unit despite the invoice saying it had JUST been cleaned. They sent the tech back out to clean it. He was angry and unpleasant at having to return. After he left, the heater won't work. I call Tops, told them the tech must have messed something up when he was cleaning. The owner lost his temper, yelled at me, accused me of being a scammer. I had to call another company to come out and look at the heater. They identified that some wiring was unplugged... it took a few minutes to fix. According to my invoice, "High limit circuit open. Fixed low voltage circuit." The tech said the issue wasn't something would happen through normal wear and tear. I didn't tell the new company the backstory with Tops, so when the tech said "This looks like it happened during cleaning," I had complete confirmation. I hadn't touched the furnace since Tops came out. 1st- they didn't complete the job they were paid to do. 2nd- they messed up the wiring when they were asked to come back and clean it. 3rd- they took no responsibility when I called to report the issue. I had to pay someone else to fix it. 4th- they insulted me, their customer, calling me a scam artist.

I would absolutely recommend Tops Heating & Air Conditioning Company for anything related to heating and cooling. Their field work is excellent. However, the woman that answers their phone doesn’t make a good first impression. Except for that everything about them is really good. Their bids are super competitive. The quality of the work is strong. They are not generally proactive about generating business. One has to call them to remind them about the maintenance work. However, once their people are on the field they are great. They are very punctual. Everything about them is topnotch. I would continue to use them again in the future.
