CertaPro Painting - Greenwood Village/Littleton

CertaPro did a fine job painting the exterior of my home. Before the job even started, they arranged for an independent complementary professional "colorist" to meet with me at my home to go over all the possibilities for a new look. Once the colors were chosen, CertaPro handled the paperwork submittal to my HOA for their approval, so I didn't have to do a thing. My house hadn't been painted in 16 years, so the re-nailing and caulking prep had to be done right, and it was. I also had foliage (including a 30-foot blue spruce) that had grown too close to my home, and CertaPro, though not arborists, did a fine job of trimming it away without making it look butchered. Gerardo, the project supervisor, was very professional and accommodating, and his expertise was quite helpful when I had questions or needed an opinion when something came up that I hadn't previously thought of. Pat the owner was prompt, and spent as much time with us as needed to answer all of our questions to generate the estimate, which was price competitive. Operations Manager Mindy was great to work with, for adjustments to contract and scheduling. She answered all of our questions, and always called back promptly. Also worked with us on HRCA project approval. Ismael and his partner who did the actual painting were friendly, on time, fast and efficient. A good crew! Professional, prompt, detail oriented, very Pleasant, and most of all trustworthy. I was so pleased with every thing they did; 2 coats of paint , all my trim done, no messes, put back every thing that was moved.

Took 2 times to get the carpentry correct. Communications was not up to my expectations.

Work itself was excellent. However, there were management problems on the job - 4-5 day estimate took almost 2 weeks; wrong paint ordered and applied; painters were pulled off our job and sent elsewhere; time commitments not kept. The subcontractor on our job was replaced half way through the job because of these problems and CertaPro worked very hard to make all this right. Nonetheless, these problems shouldn't have happened and definitely had a negative an impact on our experience.

Quality of the paint job was very good and the painter was professional. Pat Lewis the owner was very nice and the project was completed in a very tight time window. The only negative comment was that everything was sprayed versus rolled (as quoted) and this was not relayed to the homeowner until asked but Pat was apologetic and gave a discount.

Patrick came in and gave me a quote and broke it up because he understood that I was on a budget. I picked the rooms that I wanted painted and he quoted me a price that I could live with. Once I went back and painted other rooms for another night, I made the decision to have them paint another room. He worked with me and was able to do what I wanted the morning of the job. The workers did a great job and were done a lot quicker than I thought they would be. Thank you for coming to my rescue, Patrick and your team!

The painters were courteous. The owner and the project manager were very nice and helpful. There was a definite language barrier in dealing with the painters. Otherwise, it was a good experience, and they did a good job. They left a few paint smudges on the area rugs.

They lacked communication between the job foreman and the workers. Sprayed instead of rolling without adequately covering floors and counters leaving paint dust in areas where it could not be removed. Placed metal items such as chalk guns on granite countertops without proper protection. Rushed completion and walk through late in the evening making it more difficult to locate problems. Removed window blind in bedroom to paint and damaged the blind. When pointed out the workers claimed to have never removed the blind which obviously had to be removed to paint under the header. Overall I would not recommend or reuse.

Pat Lewis, owner, bid the job personally and was very professional, and his estimate was quite competitive. Alex, who then worked with us on colors, timelines, etc. was likewise accommodating and nice to work with. The job was completed w/i several weeks and was on schedule, except for the big snow storm we had which caused a several day delay - not their fault. The painters did a neat job and left the grounds in good condition. There were a few minor touch-ups needed, but nothing major. In the end, I was charged exactly what the estimate had been. I was very pleased with the job, would use them again and recommend them to others.

The gentlemen we met with were very nice and professional, and they worked very hard to get our job done in time for our move.
