We are introducing Theo Herrera with this review based on six years of service on a variety of minor to major projects with outstanding results in every case. Theo has undertaken exterior work including soffit repair and replacement, siding replacement, entire exterior painting, caulking, outside light wiring and installationm, exterior drainage improvement, iron railing configuration and installation, complete concrete pad work, and, most recently, deck repair and refinishing, including enclosure of under-deck space for appearance and security. From any cost/benefit perspective, his work always reflects exceptional value and quality. One major project involved conversion of a garage bay into a painting studio, which entailed dividing wall construction, pocket door installation, counter/sink/shelving design and fabrication, carpeting, and wiring and lighting. Theo designed and finished an ingenious, movable wall separating the studio from motorcycle parking and storage area, permitting multiple uses for the bay. As part of that work, he demonstrated commendable skill with framing, hanging and finishing drywall, along with enviable cabinetry and floor work. Outside the garage, we now have a gated open storage area Theo imagined and built quickly, matching existing fencing perfectly. Theo's piece de resistance, an under-deck, beautiful rockwork retreat providing seating with backrests over a matching floor of figured New Mexican flagstone and surrounding a stone and concrete pedestal supporting a half ton table rock of the same material. Design and completion of the project and, in itself, the job of placing the enormous table stone serves to define Theo's creative intelligence and determination to provide unique, admirable results for homeowners. There is no question that the cost for this ambitious project would have been prohibitive were it not for Theo. Along with all of that, he's undertaken any number of interior projects for us, involving cabinetry, finishing work, tile work, painting and structural repair with excellent results in every case. Theo reliably brings a positive, confident attitude, the ability to identify problem areas in advance, and the ability to envision and adjust project plans to improve our ideas. Beyond that, we can depend on him to energetically negotiate material costs with suppliers to our benefit.
